So much hype about a game that will flop just like ET:QW/WOLF did, one season + one quakecon and thats about it.

I think they said no demo.
And all the reviews are day 0 before many people are playing on 360. People actually playing now seem to like it if they aren't affected by some dodgy tech issues. I'll probably buy it if it gets patched quickly.

I'm hearing complaints for everything - not just bugs.

It seems that a large amount of complaints are about things that can simply be added with DLC, so at least there's a bit of hope.

Why is this getting hyped on a quake site? It's slow as fuck and looks like a tf2 clone.

Perhaps because TF has it's roots in Quake? Perhaps because Splash Damage made it's name with Quake 3 Fortress, Enemy Territory, Doom 3 MP maps etc?

or maybe because the OP is a TF2 player himself.

My point is that all these things share common roots. TF is a direct descendant of a Quake mod. There are plenty of kids too young to remember past TF2 or the HL based version, but the origins of the family are right there in world of quake. Brink certainly looks to be another riff on TF... after all, that's what Splash Damage have mostly been doing with Q3F, ET, QW-ET. And on the commercial side of things, it's an idTech4 based, Bethesda published multi-player shooter. So why shouldn't a 'quake site' be at least interested in seeing whether it takes off?
