They care about what the community says? Yeah, they do it more than other developers. But, the game is more than 10 years old. The community had the time to figure out what it exactly wants and needs. And when the community raises issues about important things, ID doesn't even care to respond to them.
At this moment, an id employee must be available and on-call 24 hours of the day to flip various magical switches that grant organizers the various privileges and freedoms required to stage an enjoyable competition.Bwahaha!! So THAT's why tourney organizers (see ZOTAC for example) can't anymore spawn private servers that anyone can join, forcing open tourneys to run on public servers without competitive features and proper streaming HUD.
i don't understand why you're assuming i didn't ask any of those questions.
i have no duty to meet your expectations for the quality or subject matter of the content i choose to produce using the motivations and input of the community i chose to represent when approaching steve.
given the context of the situation i was in at the time that steve was available to speak with me, i made a conscious choice to choose a different approach and to utilize the mood and questions o the community to achieve a different goal.
analyzed the resulting discussion that was made possible by that connection so that i could expose some level of true humanity behind the project.

some powdered quake3 fags who don't get the intention, ideas and aim behind quake live at all.
Especially the one sided bashing against SyncError is unfair
The way some people on esr argue is hilarious and I wouldn't give a shit about them too if I were SyncError or any other guy at Id.Just because the demeanor of arguing is hilarious means that the points should just be discarded and/or ignored? Funny "media communication".
I just can't stand people who fuck up and then search excuses instead of accounting for their failure. This and the lack of information was too much for me and for any other guy who stayed at home and wasted his time.
I walked into the interview fearing a robotic question and answerI'm looking forward to read the interview.
