i dont see the deal with 60fps, its refreshrate that effects me. 120hz and 60fps, walla. problem is keeping a steady 60fps.

what do you mean with refreshrate? you mean if you would set it to 120 then the 60 wouldnt bother you? unfortunatly they disabled the refreshrate for mp too though :/

Well, what i meant was that q4 does not allow the refreshrate command to work in mp, so i am guessing even if you forced the refresh rate that the game would not allow it to work?
Now that i think of it perhaps there are ways to make it work by forcing and i am wrong? heh

I was playing at 120hz using powerstrip.

nvidia drivers has built in refreshrate override tool, think in the new drivers though it needs enabling, i use nvtweak to enable it. i use this for refreshrates in all games i play.

60 fps is so lol

Agreed, engines just have gotten clunkier and clunkier as time goes on. The d3 engine brings it up a notch tho, nothing feels consistent, movement isn't as responsive, binds sometimes work and don't.
Kinda like comparing a pick-up truck and a sportscar..

cmon ffs how hard can it be to make a game better than q3

I have a feeling when new maps are released and the game engine/dynamics get explored more and more, the game will become very interesting. Take crouchsliding for example - i only discovered it earlier today and already this has totally changed the gameplay so much and sped the game up alot for me. It's an added movement feature that i'm sure all the QWers and cpma players will love, i know i do ;))

It was never going to be perfect out of the box. Give it time, that's all i can say really :P

I still have mixed feeling about Quake 4 and have tried not to express my opinion about it just yet. Still hoping for a good "Point Release" by Id Software and/or a OSP-like mod soon. If not, it could turn out to be another PK.

WTF is wrong with 60fps? get over it - get USED to it.

What's wrong is there is no need for it - hobby coders can do FPS independant physics in their spare time, and id can't working fulltime? o_O

The more I play this game the more I hate it.

Is it just me or are the hitboxes huge?

for rail?

if someone hits a bounce pad they are like 100% hit for me, and my rail in q3 is pretty average. the pads seem to float the player moreso than q3.

ive also had rails obviously miss but still hit, like 6 feet + away from the player.

the way ive seen it, people are either hopelessly in love with the game and all the fun that the slight movement changes could bring, or they feel "robbed".

i cant tell what the majority think, but i do know im sick of people whining :(

and i think this 60fps thing is mostly psychological - perservere with q4, its not going away any time soon i would imagine :x
