i use dell xps15 for work. i have the version with the decent mobile graphics chipset (nvidia something or whatever, who cares). i'm sure xps15 would be more than adequate for any software needs and running games like quake. probably even qc if you wanted a reason to feel bad about where you're at in life.
The new AMD Renoir mobile CPUs are kicking Intel's butt at the moment but so far almost all models came out with a shitty display. That will probably change soon, so if you can hold off the purchase, I would wait.
No lies detected. Only a fool would buy an Intel today. My work just bought me a "gaming" laptop with a Intel 9750H (a 6-core part) and some kind of nvidia 1600 GPU or whatever.
The thing is furnace. Weights 3 kg and it starts generating excessive amounts of heat and noise as soon as anything but a browser is started. Even skype calls make it sweat lol. Unbelievable
AMD Renoir APU at 15W is faster than Intel's best at 45W hahah
I have been using a dell xps15 (glass display version) and it's the closest I have ever come to a macbook with a windows laptop in terms of feel. It's still not a macbook but at least you don't want to throw it into a corner after an hour of working.
A nice side effect is that it outperforms it in hardware and is considerably cheaper...
Did my whole masters with it, 6 months of heavy lifting CAD/Rendering/Photosthop/... and it never left me hanging.
