There are brackets and schedule np, I dont know why you say the contrary. As promotion, there were two week-ends of qualification. No streaming in english isnt perfect but this event was organised in few time and apparently it was originally supposed to be a 100% french competition. I will try to ask about why no international coverage was prepared as i am at eswc.

Of course there are improvements to make, but it's good to see Quake being back at ESWC. With a longer time to put everything in place it would probably be better.

There wasnt for stream until quite late in the tournament without any indication where to find the information, this should be standard information provided. Given the Rooster this is not even close to 100 percent French event.

Ok I gave the stream a quick shot. Watched a single map between strenx and Raisy on Sarnath and literally the only weapons they used were RL, RG and SSG during the 20 minutes or so it lasted (full 5 rounds).

Raisy used LG once and lost the battle. When Strenx was in the LG room he intentionally avoided picking it up when he didn't have the weapon. I don't think he used it at all during the map in fact.
There weren't really even any battles for RA or MH either since you can just run around the map to stack your health reasonably thanks to the horrible limits.
It felt like spectating some amateur level match between 2 players who don't know what they are doing. That was seriously the most boring shit I have ever seen so I just closed the stream.

How can people still support this monstrosity when even watching pros play it puts you to sleep?

Whats your beef with Denver? What anon said about combat is absolutely right though. Maybe I was too hyped by the sick matches and plays to realise how much the combat meta has changed or players themselves had not yet adapted to that kind of play as much as we saw today? I dont know

no beef, but was the first tourney that was bored to death and have seen hundreds of tourneys (q3, ql and qc)

ESWC took the predominantly french and french only direction a long time ago.

That doesn't stop every other major esport title from providing coverage in English, though. You can't denounce criticism of a decision that serves only to alienate a significant portion of the player/viewerbase.

I presume you read the first line wrong, it says "on official stream" not "no official stream" I made that a point because there are certain expectations of professionalism on the official game stream and they failed for all the reasons named above. I do follow quake with open eyes and ears always, and this event was completely underpromoted, that is my impression and subjective. Not subjective are other points like the minimal effort attitude of stream not to provide any information about breaks, upcoming games, links to tournament and brackets. In fact the chat bot still provided links for the last big event. There were no player interviews, the spectators had no idea who the casters were as there were no overlays .... it was just a truly minimal-effort stream. I am an angry customer and want to point out shortcomings, dont hate the player, hate the game.
