The sides, which are made from the same rubber the G502 and 402 are using, but over the whole length, works very well in any circumstance for me.
Buttons, M1 and M2 are as expected, a little bit more resistance than on the Pro and in turn 303, also depends on your grip in this case. M4 and M5 are nice to actuate as well, i have a little bit of contact with them, but they are rounded enough so that im not conscious of them.
Scrollwheel is bigger than on the Pro, feels better to me, despite being softer i am more precise with it, not using it for anything besides scrolling though, mouse 3 is okay in terms of actuation force, its not G 302/402 level, but it isnt pleasant either.
"Overall roundedness" of the shape.
Other Stuff:
Weight Balance is just a tad to the front.
The Cable is flexible enough for me, its still braided though, so you know what to expect.
If i would have to describe the shape it would be "DA´s short legged fat cousin", its Alcor sized(so inbetween EC1 and 2), but higher and with a little bit less butt, and a less aggressive contour.
As with the Pro, the 403 has no objective flaws, altough one could argue that they could have saved some extra weight without the rubber sides.
Indeed (and plussed), dunno how they passed from a round-ish, smooth, fluid design to a sharpy, pointy design (like a cheap brand would do to try to please 12yo for whom, only (questionable) design with flashy colors and LEDS matters, more or less).
Ordered g502 at release for its super sensor apparently and I genuinely tried and forced myself to play with it after 'my still in activity' g500;though, I had to send it back 2-3 days after because it was a mess of a pointy design...
Can't wait for a real g500 successor with a godlike sensor :) .
1 it could be the best shape in the world for all I care and it still would not change the fact that it's different.
2 yep, seems you are right. 'confuse the marketplace' is the logitech motto now.
count the amount of available mice on the logitech site and tell me that makes sense.
also who makes 2 different mice under the same name? in the past the wireless option was named g7 while the normal one was g5. the color was different too. it's a marketing thing.
I ordered one from Logitechs German site with discount codes "IFA2016" and "5€-LOGITECH" for 50.99 €. People in the UK should use "5£-LOGITECH" instead apparently. After waiting on the order page for a while I got a popup that gave free express shipping, had to use chrome and disable adblock etc and it didn't work in firefox for me.
Some people are saying if you use "ESL2016" code you will get a free mouse pad but it didn't show up in the order for me at least. It didn't say "false code" either like it does when you type something random so who knows, will be a nice bonus if I get some mouse pad :]
The discount codes might work for the G Pro from that site as well, I'm not sure.
After all the mice I've tried to get to replace the g100s it looks pretty promising to see logitech now bringing out a better version of the g100s.
I see this site flooded with people complaining about the g100s and I've been using once since it's come out, I've had 2 in total, the 1 breaking due to me spilling a cup of tea on it. (Go figure.)
Initially the issue I had was just the general tracking and malfunctioning because of my aggressive mouse movements, especially using a qck+ I tried flipping the pad different angles just to see if the change in direction of the fibres will make it respond better, so if you move the mouse "normally" you'll be okay.
Quick swipes are a no go imho.
However I changed to a SteelSeries 9HD Gaming Surface and it's been perfect ever since, it took a while getting used to it as there's no actual friction like a cloth pad that has the right amount of coffee and tea spills on it to add just that perfect amount of friction if you know what I'm saying? ;)
So TL;DR g100s + with any hard surface pad = perfect. (For me anyways.)
Due to massive pre-ordering it took almost a week for the package to be shipped because they ran out of stock somewhere the last couple of days.
I used Qvists's discount codes which took the price from 69,99 to 50,99. This is a great deal in my opinion since my G400s mouse5 is dead/dying and I needed a proper replacement due to just falling out of the 2 year warranty period. Too bad.
My first impressions of the mouse are 'ok'. I expected more from it but having the G303 in the back of my mind I knew I should be careful about expecting too much of a good thing out of it.
Unboxing:
When unboxing the G403 I came to the finding that the mouse had already been used/tested before being shipped. This could also be due to alot of people ordering the G pro and G403 simultaniously and sending the one they prefer least back. I was kind of dissapointed by this, but the mouse and contents looked fresh enough to give it a shot instead of sending it back, bearing in mind the excess amount of orders there are being placed on this mouse + there is a 2 year warranty on the mouse which gives me enough peace of mind.
Weight:
The weight is a 17g lower than the G400s which is a good thing, especially for my type of playing (hybrid finger/claw, which I also incorporated on the G400) and should avoid fatigueing in long gaming sessions. Comparing them side to side and lifting the mouse up and down didn't make me notice the weight difference. This could be due the size of the G403 being smaller than the G400s and the weight being spread out less than the latter. Also, on the bottom of the mouse there is an option for adding an extra 10g of weight to the mouse. I am not going to use it, so at the moment there's the default clip on the mouse, which is also removable and should make the mouse approximately 3g lighter. I've noticed that doing this makes the mouse noticably lighter than with the clip, but makes the weight shift a bit more to the front, and the mouse already has a slight front-heaviness which is more pronounced than the g400s which feels more balanced.
Shape/Feel/Looks:
In comparison the the G400s the mouse looks more aestheticly pleasing to the eye due to not having this sci-fi/futuristic print on in and looking more uniform overall from side to side, having a nice matte looks with in my opinion durable rubber on the sides and plastic on the top, with built in RGB-leds as icing on the cake. The mouse wins it from the G400 in the looks and material department and the mouse 1 & 2 buttons feel really tactile and durable due to the mechanic spring system they've provided it.
The buttons feel a bit more firm than the G400 and require a tad more travel distance to activate, but the overal impression makes me prefer them over the G400. Coming to the side buttons and scroll wheel I have a less positive opinion. The side buttons remind me a bit of the IME 3.0 mouse, which in my opinion is the best mouse ever made, exluding the side buttons. My impression is that they are 'ok', but feel more flimsy and cheap in general due to some travel distance required to active them. I have my mouse 4 and 5 bound on rail and shotgun respectively and after done a quick test I find them a bit less tactile and awkwardly placed than the predecessor and find, combined with the scrollwheel, the worst aspect of this product. Coming to the scrollwheel I must say I like the chunkyness and rubberized feel of it, the scrollsteps are distinctive enough and pressing the wheel down takes about 2x more force than the G400. This ain't a big deal for me, but for avid mid-button users this could be a slight letdown.
Performace:
I just have this mouse for 1 hour, very limited amount of time to provide an accurate review about the mouses' performance but a quick playaround made me feel the sensor is very responsive, stable and crisp. The lack of angle-snapping (which can be enabled in the drivers) is noticable when turned on/off. Comparing the dpi value to the G400 I find that when setting the mouse @ 800 dpi the G403 feels a tad slower.
Mousefeet feel good and provide great tracking on my QcK heavy. They are about (very close) as good as the hyperglides on my G400s which I really enjoy. The tracking on the Goliathus control is also very good but the feet provide way more friction compared to the hyperglidez here.
I failed making the mouse skip swiping the mouse as fast as I can around my QCK Heavy where the tracking is superb on. The only thing that requires a big getting used to is the lower lod. I'ts way lower than the g400. This, based on your preference is a bad or good thing. The polling rate feels stable, but haven't tested this with tools, I don't feel like going too deep into testing since the sensor has already been proved top-notch in other product(s).
Is it the definitive 'endgame/g400 successor/replacer':
I think the mouse has a lot in common with the G400 but has some distinctive features which makes me say no. Gripping the mouse feels too much different to make seasoned mx-500 shape users feel at home immediatly with this piece of hardware. The back-end of the mouse is shorter and less beefy, giving the it a bit less ergonomic shape. Also bear in mind that the 'ledges' which the G400 had, which gave me more grip and hold of the mouse are removed. This makes the mouse feel less stable in the hands and removes quite a deal of comfort. The latter is definately something I can get used to and I will keep giving this mouse a shot since the mouse is lighter and due to it's dimentions and weight makes it a bit more viable for my grip-usage + all the sensor & button features which provide crisp and tactile feedback.
As a 11-year long mx-500 shape-user I am going to keep using this mouse and give it a chance to replace my G400s.
P.S. I have noticed that the mouse-wheel has an extremely annoying rattle in a specific scroll area. 90% of the scrollwheel position doesn't provide the rattle, till you reach it. It feels loose in this position and I'm not sure if I should RMA or if it's a common G403 issue. Will keep an eye and check forums around the net to see if other users have the same problem.
Till then, I hope this impression gives enough info & help!
Does the curve on the left side of mouse force your thumb into a certain positiion? The g400 i use allows me to have my thumb in between the side buttons (which i use for SG and zoom-toggle), i bought a zowie ec2a some time back and my only complaint was that it forced me to have my thumb too far forward. Any feedback on that would be appreciated ))
I noticed that the positioning of the side-buttons are more to the back and due to size may appear to be placed lower than the G400 counterpart. I still need to adjust to them since I've already accidentally clicked the mouse4 key midfight in Quake when I squeeze my thumb harder around the mouse.
It forces you to grip your thumb a bit lower, well maybe not lower but using the tip of the thumb more instead of whole thumb. I think they are positioned well in general. It's just the 10+ years of mx-5xx shape requires you to get used to it.
If anyone else got any questions, be free to ask.
P.S. The scroll-wheel problem seems to be a common issue with this mouse. I contacted Logitech Customer Service and they asked me to fill in a form and film the problem. Apparantly the support system got abused in the past and they are more strict about sending people stuff. In any case, if the mouse get's approved for RMA they just send me a new one.
Just got mine today, no rattles.
My WMO is finally surpassed.
I think anyone who is going to play Quake champs should get a laser mouse though, one with poor tracking and unpredictable acceleration.
Hopefully I'll make tier 3 or whatever elopenis scoring system is in place then.
Can you upload some pics (in good light) showing them side by side from all angles similar to the OPs pics? It's ridiculous how long I've waited for a mouse with usable side buttons and I'm really interested in this one.
Also, does the mouse require installing logitech bloatware to change dpi? Thanks.
Sorry I don't have time to do pics ect.
There are lots of pictures on http://www.overclock.net/t/1609899/new-logite...e-wireless
What I can say, if your right handed and like the WMO IE3 IMO size/shape I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I bought it after checking the dimensions of both mice online.
I haven't had time to check out all the features but you can change dpi on the mouse with no software and it has on board memory.
It must save custom settings to the mouse with the software then uninstall it.
Edited by Mental Patience at 20:06 BST, 13 September 2016
Like mental patience says it has onboard memory so you can install drivers and save DPI settings etc then uninstall the drivers.
I'm not sure about the default settings without drivers but I believe it was 1000 hz and 800 DPI, with the DPI button switching between 400, 800, 1600 and 3200. The LED lights are on by default though so you need drivers to turn those off.
I've mostly been using IME 3.0 for a few years now. G403 feels great for me, it's like a smaller IME 3.0 or ergonomic WMO. The main difference in feeling compared to those two mice for me is the back of it which is a bit narrower on G403, WMO and IME have very "wide asses".
Thanks very much, this is insanely helpful! I will definitely be getting one as soon as the price drops, because I still have plenty of extra WMO/IMEs :D
I see what you mean about the backend of the G403, I'm a little concerned that it might be too curved on the right side and as a result difficult to grip since I have a claw/fingertip(?) kind of grip but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
i got this mouse yesterday and i must say this piece of HW works very nice, even the logitech gaming software, was somewhat useful, it even had surface tuning, which i dont know how it works, but if any1 has problems, he can try scaning the surface for adjustment.
I played doom with it and was nice, tracking was nice/smooth, no anomalies while lifting, or fast 180° snaping, the buttons are crisp, side buttons are large enough and do not bother me while holding, lifting, changing mouse direction.
Havent tested it in quake yet, cant be bothered to adjust and fine tune every little shity cvar in config, for a new rig and mouse. To test in quake i think i am gona wait for the new quake. I just hope we wont have to adjust 1498589403 cvars to get the quake we want, i am getting to old for that.
So what do you think about the mice? I'm not going to watch 5 hours of video material to get your opinion out of it. Will they replace the G400 shape and your main mouse?
Wired G403 seems great so far. Back right is a little steeper than the DeathAdder which will take some time getting used too, certain movements feel restrictive for the moment, but otherwise I'm enjoying my time with it. It's light and responsive, just need to stick with it to get off 10+ years of DeathAdder usage. I'm just happy I have a dedicated DPI button again! :)
The wireless G403 felt awesome too, there's some video of me shooting bots in Quake and flying around - honestly if it wasn't for the fact it is wireless I would probably use it - which yes is weird to say considering, but just knowing it's wireless is enough for me to prefer wired, no matter what numbers are thrown at me.
The G Pro slopes inwards towards the bottom too much for me with my grip style. It's a great mouse but the shape isn't for me. I'd use it if I had too, it's definitely met the hype, but preference would probably lean me more toward using a G303 if I wanted an ambidextrous mouse. I didn't like the diamond shape but the sides were more "vertical". Again, I'd probably adapt, but I'm choosing not too.
This is all with 9+ hours of play time with the G403, ask me in a week when I'm streaming and I'll give you a final answer. Honestly though, I just want to use one of these mice purely to thank LogitechG for actually attempting to make advancements, ones that actually benefit competitive players.
Since you're someone who tested a lot of mice. What would you recommend me? I like the G403 but hate the fact that the back side of the mouse has a lower/smaller butt than the G400 and the IE 3.0 which I really love and gives me a lot of control making small movements. I also love the slopes at the right hand side of the G400's which allowed me to control the mouse better when lifting it up.
I use a palm/claw/fingertip hybrid grip.
TL;DR what is a good IE 3.0 successor. It may be a slight smaller in the length but needs the juicy butt the IE 3.0/G400 have for instance.
I find the G403 to have a bigger butt than the 3.0 and deathadder haha. It does sound to me like your "closest to ideal mouse" that's still being sold might actually be a zowie. I've not really used one for exended periods to comment on it though, the last one I used was an older EC2 model that malfunctioned on my QcK - so I returned it!
That is assuming you've tried the G403? Or is the size an assumption?
I was used to IE 3.0 and g403 feels similar in shape for my grip. The difference in feel is the butt, IE has a wider butt if I measure down at the mousepad level. The IE starts sloping downwards earlier at the back right side than the G403 does so I agree with nvc that G403 can feel wider at the back, depending on your grip, because it is a bit higher on the right side compared to IE.
G403 has an almost symmetrical butt while IE 3.0 is very unsymmetrical at the back. The highest part of IE 3.0 is towards the left of the mouse while G403 is highest in the middle.
I like how the IE 3.0 fills up my hand more when fingergripping/clawing it compared to the G403. It just feels like there is a large chunk of mouse missing in my palm when gripping it the way I do with the 403.
I am getting better playing with the G403 daily, coming from an G400s but I don't see myself preferring it over the latter any time soon.
Yeah I know what you mean, IE 3.0 has the perfect shape for me. I didn't buy g403 because I thought the shape would be better, I got it for features like being able to change DPI and easily adjustable polling rate, it being lighter is nice too. The shape is going to take a little getting used to after years of using IE 3.0 but I'm going to stick with it and hopefully it will feel as perfect as IE 3.0 shapewise after a while.
I was considering getting a Zowie EC1 which is closer to IE 3.0 in shape I believe but decided to go for G403 instead.
Yes, but with the "g303" they paired the best available sensor with a loose lense which made the whole mouse worthless.
The "g pro" basically is a "g303" with a fixed lens.
I ain't going to rely on logitech's laboratory environment testing, therefore I will wait a month and let hardcore users field test the "g403" and "g pro".
If they can't find anything fishy, I will buy whichever of those two fits palmgrip with large hands better.
The "g403 wireless" might be interesting considering the following:
My "g400" died after some years due to a broken cable and currently my "g400s" gives me the same random disconnects every 10 minutes. Aswell as reading users complaining on the forums, it seems the cables are the weak spot of logitech's mice.
The "g403 wireless" comes with a cable that can be plugged in, to use the mouse in wired mode. If that cable can be purchased separately, it would be an efficient way to counter logitech's crappy cables killing perfectly working mice.
+ Logitech has gone to shits for years now with bad quality control and chinese manufacturing. Everything around and before the mx-518 was practically indestructable and Logitech offered 5-10 year warranty.
Nowadays you'd get lucky getting 2 or 3. And you pay double the price for triple the gimmicky products.
I bought an old beat up MX500 a few years ago and it still works great. Sadly not the shape for me but I might put the sensor into something else one day.
Yeah if I knew I'd get enough for a new mouse I guess that'd be a good deal. I don't think a well loved mx500 could sell for too much, the boxed ones are where you cash in big.
I went from a G5 to a G403 starting this monday. The shape takes some getting used to but I'm getting there with every hour played. I palm it. Already from the start I felt the mouse tracked better than the G5 which isn't that strange concidering my G5 is 10-11 years old and obviously sensors have improved since then. My hands are medium size I guess, rather short fingers though. Wouldn't have minded a bit bigger butt and for the mouse to be som what wider at the front, would be more space to place my ringfinger then. I will get used to the shape although it's not an as natural grip as the MX518/G5. What I want to say is: The mouse is reallly good, if you get used to the shape I don't think you'll look for a new one in years, unless Logitech change the shape to MX518/G5 ofc ;)
Alborz, given up on the G403? I really had huge problems with the shape initially, wnated to bin the mouse but i forced myself to keep using it. Been with it for some time now, it really grows on me. Just saying...
I must say I got more used to it and started to like the shape. The missing butt is still a letdown, but the rest of the mouse (excluding rattling scrollwheel) makes up for it. I'm keeping it!
Thanks for sharing good insights regarding this type of Logitech gaming mouse and I think Logitech are good to buy for pc games. I am also using Logitech G502 from last 2 years and quite satisfied.

its about 50 euros all the stuff pretty reasonable tbh :)
Hey man I know it's a bit late but none of the codes you said are working anymore :( is there any place to check out if there are any new promo codes? Where did you find those out? thank you btw!
There is no native DPI with the 3366 sensor. It performs flawlessly under 2k dpi, going over that might induce some slight jitter. DPI starts from 400 and can be adjusted with a value of 50.
So it has been 18 days ago since I've applied the G403 to RMA @ Logitech and still haven't got a response. Last time I had a ticket for a G400s open for over 3-4 weeks which didn't get looked @ till I called their customer service.
Rattling scroll wheel @ certain point of the axis the wheel comes loose and hits the mouse chassis which distracts me. Common problem with the G403's first batch it seems.
Buttons 10/10 (makes you realise how bad other mice are)
Click response time 10/10
Sensor 10/10
Shape 8/10 (g400/mx518 users will prefer this to zowie ec2 shape)
Weight 8/10 (could be lighter, but at 90g perfectly fine)
Cable 8/10 (could be thinner but is ok)
Software 10/10 (set stuff to onboard mem and uninstall)
Price 10/10 (if you get codes)
Thoughts... (not tl;dr)
Sides are rubberised, nice. Can choose how many dpi steps you want so you don't need to cycle through ones you don't need (400/800dpi gg). Lighting very good options, can switch wheel or logo on and off, change brightness, change cycle speed etc.
Left side of mouse doesn't force thumb too far forward like ec2 shape does, although you can't put thumb as far back as with g400. No ledges at bottom of mouse like g400, so you can rest thumb on pad to get some control when needed.
Got free G240 pad with mouse, but that will be ebay time along with my very lightly used ec2a )
**update
Thought i'd try 500hz, glad i did, 400dpi 500hz on this mouse feels like old times wmo but without any drawbacks of wmo like malfunction speed and bad buttons. Can only imagine the g pro would feel perfect mouse for fingertip grip with those settings.
So on September 9th I applied my mouse for RMA @ Logitech and now, 39 days later I finally received a replacement product. The only problem is that they've sent me a wireless version instead of the wired I have.
Looks like I have to wait another month to receive the right product..
Logitech...
:D
So yeah, sealed wireless G403 for sale, PM if interested.

Sensor is still leagues ahead of 3310 as every other Logitech 3366 as you would expect. Glide is good, rubber coating and shape is good a bit nicer then DA, looks more like the Zowie even though I never had the EC.
Feels just as light as my ZA13 does and G Pro did even though its 90 grams (5-7 grams heavier than both) on top of that the really annoying cable drag and stiffness of the G Pro and 303 are not present here at all it's pretty crazy, the extra weight and bigger shell must be the main factor.
Only downside is the size, if your not used to it then it feels big which it is but more importantly it is and feels much slower when doing multiple lifts and changes of direction. If your used to the size/shape its perfect.
I would buy the Wireless if it wasn't 15+ grams heavier and use it when not playing FPS games.
ZA13 is still king cause it can be thrown around a lot more and faster on crazy angles and tracking, also find aiming with fingers better than palm even though I try to palm both.
Last thing to note it was a major fuck around to get the Logitech Software to recognize the mouse and once I had the two DPI step button to 400 / 800 with onboard memory it decided to reset mid game randomly and put me on like 2000+ dpi. Also made my keyboard layout all mixed and started holding down modifier keys and doing crazy shit when I tried to type, meanwhile alt-tab still worked to confirm that I wasn't crazy.
Neither 303 or G Pro had any issues at all, google tells me its very random and might as well be a coin flip for any of their products.
I said some words on the G Pro in its thread, if curious to anything related to what i said just ask.
Oh yeah and the Scroll wheel is nothing like the G Pro, its pretty much the same as a DeathAdder / Zowie just feels slightly more tactical cause its new but the speed of both scroll and weight to press Mouse3 are like other mice and not the G Pro.

Regarding the software doing crazy things, i have a g100s, and it randomly goes wild once in a while too. I have set only one dpi step, 450, so that even if i accidentally press the dpi buttons or it goes off y itself with vibrations (it happened), the dpi doesn't change.
Still, once in a while, it sets the dpi to like 1500 or so, for no fucking reasons. And you can't launch the software manager when it does so.
Once again, FUCK having to rely on drivers for mices, the only always reliable mouse is the one that you don't have to install crap for, and doesn't have modifiable dpi steps. The wmo is an outdated dumb brick, but it was a reliable brick. It always felt exactly the same, never maybe laggy maybe not, maybe higher sens maybe not, maybe acceleration maybe not.
ZA13 is still king cause it can be thrown around a lot more and faster on crazy angles and tracking, also find aiming with fingers better than palm even though I try to palm both.
Sounds like you got used to higher lift-off distance (lod). The higher the lod, the more you can tilt or accidentally lift the mouse without loosing tracking.
On the other hand, low lod allows for more accurate and faster repositioning of the mouse.
So if all this is the case, I would try to concentrate on holding the mouse perfectly horizontal during movement. in my experience once you get used to it, it's much easier to control.
I would put it down to the narrow shell making those movements require less surface area even if its the same sensor distance.
To your point the G Pro I found was quite a bit better than the 403 when it comes to LOD and tilting the mouse and moving in strange ways, G Pro is quite easy to get used to and not much different, the 403 would cut out often doing the same.
After reading some posts I'm still confused if this is a good sucessor for the MX500 shape, I've had MX500, 510, 518, G400 and G400S since 2003 :( Although I still use G400S nowadays I know it will die eventually so I'm trying to inform myself for a good replacement.. Did you guys afterall got used to it? Logitech G Pro seems just too small for me :/
Well it took me some time to get used to it and I still don't feel 100% adapted after 4 months after 10+ years of MX500 shape usage. One thing is sure though, the sensor is crisp & accurate, I hit a lot more with it. Another plus is the overall weight which is 17g lower than let's say a G400s, which I came from. I use a finger/claw hybrid style of mousing and it works for me. Certainly not perfect like I would want it to, but yes, it's definately worth the upgrade.
The things I'm still bothered about is that the RMB feels different then my LMB which makes rocket jumping harder then usual. Also, the side-buttons are larger and placed more down and to the back which makes me sometime press the mouse-5 button without me wanting it to, leaving me a sitting duck with a railgun in my hand mid-fight :/.
The things you will have to adjust to coming from a mx5xx shape:
- Butt is shorter, so if your gripping style relies on it you need some weeks to adapt
- Side-buttons are larger and more prone to misclick ingame (also depends on your gripstyle ofcourse)
- You have no slope or edges around your thumb and ring/pinky area that give more support/ergo during usage. In my opinion this makes the mouse harder to pick up and put down compared to the accuracy of the mx5xx shape.
- Lighter
Things you'll like guaranteed:
- Sensor
- Weight, if you belong to the lighter = better club
- Tactical feedback of buttons
- Software
- Aesthetics (debatable, i don't like how it looks, but lot of people do)
- Scrollwheel
I'm sitting here with 2x G403 and 1x G403 wireless because Logitech fucked up the RMA process. As soon as I received my first G403 I noticed the scrollwheel was defective and rattling. I contacted Logitech, after about 2 months of mailing and eventually calling they decided to send me a replacement mouse after I had to send pics and vids to prove the defect. The replacement appeared to be a wireless version which I didn't agree on, eventhough I didn't notice any latency or any defects. It's still not the product I asked for. So I contacted again and it took yet another 1,5 month for them to even acknowledge my messages, and had to argue with them before they finally decided to send me a proper, goodworking G403 wired mouse which I am using now. They kept demanding that I should smash the wireless G403 I received from them and I kept telling them they weren't in a position to demand anything and that the total RMA process took over 4 months, so eventually after contacting management they sent me one immediatly and giving apologies for the process.
I recommend you to _not_ buy from Logitech directly because if you stumble across a defect one you will have to sit out and wait till Logitech feels due to take action and RMA it. Logitech support isn't as good as it was <2010 and the Swiss quality alot of people still expect is long gone.
That's a great reply, thank you for the informative post. I'll keep using my G400S until it dies and then I might change to the G403. I still would prefer the same shape with a good sensor anyway, honestly I liked G400 aesthetics a lot more than G400S (i dont like the whole gaming thing honestly). G403 looks better than G400S though but im afraid of the shape as you said. Before this mouse was released (g403) I was thinking of switching to zowie but probably this is the best option for a MX500 shape user.
I'm also thinking of buying a mouse bungee for the first time since I'll be going for the wired version too, was thinking of the zowie camade but it just seems so expensive.. do you have any mouse bungee?
I have used G400 then G400s for many many years, the G403 is light years ahead in tracking, and so much lighter, picked up G400s the other day and it felt like a house brick...
get a G403 ))
(i also used a Zowie EC2-A, that was a pile of junk compared to G403, Zowie buttons are just dreadful, also mouse was too slippery)
is there any sort of consensus about which serial number on the mouse is required to prevent the scrollwheel rattle?
Bought a 1634x and had to return it to the store the next day due to rattling. People on ocn report that overworked batches without the rattle got 1636x on box but 1632 on mouse, but still some get rattling.
Does anybody know for sure what serial number doesn't have the rattling scrollwheel? Because other than that, the mouse is pretty perfect.
Great, I think I decided and I'll order the G403, I'm pretty curious about it even tho G400S is still working, I saw in earlier posts there were a lot of coupon codes, but I've tried them all and none of them are working atm. Does anyone have a clue where to find them? I googled a lot and didn't find much. Please let me know if you guys know any codes that work nowadays =) Ty
You could try to reach out to Logitech to give you a review model if you stream, or ask someone with links to the gaming world to get you a contact. You're famous .pt gamer, if you streamed or did some review I'm sure you'd get one sent out ;) Ask zacc or nvc for some contact details maybe?
That wouldn't work as I'm currently sponsored by Steelseries (shhh ;)). I'm a just a huge fan from Logitech through all these years even tho the Rival 300 that I tried is pretty awesome, nothing beats my old MX500 shape. So coupons are highly apreciated! :D
Check last 10-15 or so pages of this thread to see if anyone found more working coupons. I don't know which ones you've tried, but there must be some going around since it's December.
So it arrived today at my work, haven't really plugged in but the first impression it feels nice.. until I pressed the middle mouse. It's super stiff and im afraid it won't be good enough for me because of that reason :( I've been playing for more than a decade with a weapon binded to the middlemouse and it's really hard to press it. Really need to test it with playing tho.. might aswell try to bind it to other buttons on the mouse :x
UPDATE: Tried it for a bittle and unfortunately it has a very common problem in this mouse, mouse wheel rattle.. :/ Which is a pity, so I'm either returning it or asking for a refund. Their support site is down apparently, so I just mailed them, got no answer for a few days already. Any clue what to do? :\
:-( Logitech makes a really good mouse and it goes south because of bad quality hardware or assemble technique... Had mine for a couple of monhs now, luckily I haven't had any problems at all and I'm using the scrollwheel for weapchanges. Did you buy it at Logitechs website or from a retailer? If you bought it at Logitechs site just report the problem as soon as the support site is up and running again. Until then put the mouse to as good use you can. If the scrollwheel problem prohibits you from using the mouse that's a bummer...
I bought from Logitech's website directly. I opened up a ticket through paypal, hopefully it will make things faster. There's a friend of mine which ordered to (about 2 days after I did) and he also has the same problem, loose scroll wheel.
What I read online is that some people got a replacement and it was rattling too, so I'll go for a refund pretty much, cba to have a 2nd one with the same problem.. and honestly I didn't like how hard the scroll wheel is to press :( I liked the sensor, seemed more precise than G400S tho.
Get your money back, because there are several reports from buyers who went through months of sending flawed mice back and receiving replacements with the exact same flaws.
Luckily I bought my 1634x from a retailer and had no problems getting my money back. But unfortunately nobody seems to know for sure, which serial numbers of the g403 are flawless.
Yeah I don't think I'll risk it, will just ask for a refund. Probably in the future I can buy the mouse again but from a shop near by, so I'll probably just open it while im there and check if it has the problem or not.
The next day it took less than 3 minutes to get my money back from the local store, you on the other hand, will now have to enjoy logitech's online customer support, thihihi.
Same here, I also plan to buy the mouse in the future, when I found out what serial numbers have the scrollwheel rattle fixed.
Btw, the "g pro"s will drop in price and for those it is known that, 1639 or higher should be fine.
The sensor is so god damn good and I've really come to terms with the shape, first the shape felt a bit strange coming from a G5/MX518 but now I appreciate it even more, it's like the shape forces me to hold the mouse in a way that makes me handle it better, thumb button is easier to acces too. Did i mention the totaly brilliant sensor!?!?! Did I, did I???? ;) The braided cable is much softer than other braided cables I've used before but they never been a problem for me, I use a hard pad and medium to high sense I guess...
Mine rattles, i seriously don't notice it at all, but I see your main problem is the middle mouse click. I should have mentioned it was harder than 400s but didn't know you had it for a wep bind, so my apologies hypno. I'm sure you could appreciate why I'd recommended the mouse to you based on the much much better sensor and the lighter weight compared to the 400s.
It wasn't your fault no worries :) The rattle for me is too annoying and I don't think it should be in such an expensive mouse, specially because there are models that don't rattle at all.
The middlemouse is indeed too hard to press if you have a weapon such as sniper binded to it.
Overall the sensor is better than the G400s, I can pretty much notice it, but with those "little" two annoying things it becomes unusable for me :(.
It's a great mouse but it's not perfect, yet for me :D
Merry christmas and a happy new year to you too =)
This mouse is fucking weird. Using it after the Pro felt like holding a brick in my hand. But the shape grows on you and even though I like holding the Pro more I find myself being much more consistent with the 403 in CS GO. I also like the buttons, rubberized grips and feet more on the 403. I was going to return the 403 after the first day of use but now I don't know what to do.
Have one, but use it when couchpotato mode and browsing the web. Difference with wired version is very minimal, doubt anyone would be affected by the slight, really slight, delay it has compared to the wired. Its just 20g heavier which is why I use the wired for gaming.
Ir's a bit heavier than the wired version, apart from that according to most reviewers it is as good as the wired one, only thing putting a few ppl off is just the fact knowing that it is wirelss :) The tests I've seen it in, it has performed equal to the wired issue.
I did a second attempt of purchasing a flawless "g403".
Serial number was 1644x on box/mouse and scrollwheel rattle was on half of the positions, the other 180° were fine.
M3 still stiff as fuck, I didn't care for gaming usage because I never bind important functions on M3, but it was so stiff that I kept misclicking random stuff below links I tried to open in a new tab.
I gave up on that trash and brought it back to the store, then I bought a "g pro", serial number on box/mouse 1642x, flawless.
No rattle on any axis even when slamming the mouse onto the pad, clicks of M1/2 are equal and M3 is less stiff than on the two "g403"s that I tried, mousefeet glide well after a couple of hours wearing them down and the PMW3366 kind of aims for me.
