hmm interesting it does not look too worn, I kind of expected a pad with a hole in the middle xD

As you use the Chroma, try disabling the "LOD surface tuning", maybe LOD was set too low and that's why the skipping happens at the worn spots

I am very surprised you were able to use a plastic pad for about a decade. It doesn't even look 'glossed out' as some end up after an year. Do you think you didn't game as much on it?

Daily gaming. The early 1030's were known for their quality, that's all. Their products went to shit not long after getting big tho, sadly.

Have you bought one of these, or just noticed it in a search? Func's build quality hit the floor not long after the Alienware partnership ended, and I'm pretty sure these are from that end of their pre-Fnatic production. I'll give it a go if you've got one, mind.

I went from many functions 1030s to the g-tf speed (zowie?) cloth hybrid, and loved it way more. Same smooth, light glide, but far better durability, less wear on skates, and better control / less overshoot on quick flicks. Not sure where to get 'em these days though :-/

I have an Alienware one here, brand new... for the life of me can't think why you'd want to use such a 'pad'.

Back in the day, companies probably figured they couldn't charge much premium for a cloth pad, as all pads were pretty much cloth or hard cloth. So they started marketing plastic/glass/wood etc pads, then as time went on you got cloth pads again, some with surface treatments. But it's 2016, and cloth pads of one sort or another are king. Leave your func 1030 as a happy memory!!!

Put the DA mouse to the trash too, go get a Logitech G403 or G Pro, drop it on top of a SS QCK Heavy (and put an Artisan pad on top of that if you want exotic), and realise how good life is compared to plastic pads and razer mice :p

P.S. I am also a gaming dinosaur ;)

Thanks for the recommend. Picked up a Mass, (Heavy, but smaller) and ended up going for the 303 - didn't get on with the 403's shape, and the Pro isn't available here. Don't regret either purchase.

Also picked up a RoG PG248Q since it was there. Fuck me is 120/120 ULMB tasty. Just like having my old 22" iiyama back. (Just don't mention the colour replication, lol.)
