Is the 50 duels tracked a strict rule? I don't know if I will have the time to play 13 duels by sunday. There are some people in the DNF that know me tho, they can confirm that I won't be a fake account (my incredibly low skill will do it too).

I believe these rules are loosely enforced and players that have played DNF cups, or just played with the DNF members, before will be allowed some leeway when it comes to the requirements.

Yes, the games played requirement is not as strict as the rating requirement. As long as we can see that you're not a semi-pro with a couple games played then we can make exceptions. If you've not played 50 games you should contact myself on discord.

Our group aims to help and introduce players new to duel. Discord let's you give people a web link which takes them straight to a voicechat server in their browser with no additional software required. Clinging to what you're used to and forcing new players to use old and relatively unfriendly software (as much as I like IRC) would not be the most effective approach to building a community. Thanks for your input though!

When they've moved it to Steam and dropped OS X and Linux support, someone made a Quake Live launcher for Linux (local thread).

playing quakelive through my ubuntu install and I've not had any issues except for having to re-write my sound card driver because realtek is a bunch of fucking horse bollocks.

All you need to do is open the discord webpage between games to report scores (if you don't feel like doing it on challonge) and organise your next match. As long as you're reachable between games.

terrible map pool imo, but is for new players and so it might be ok. even though u use pro maps.

i would prefer some maps that are actually played a lot for a "noobs" cup.

ztn, dm6 everybody knows these maps and they are easy to learn.
t9 maybe, is an easy map as well.
aero, it is actually one of the hardest maps imo, but is an all times classic and many ppls favorite.

also i would had put more maps in the pool and use drop, drop. so, at the end the players will end up in maps they know. forcing a 5 map pool on ppl that don't play duel full time, will end up on either ppl not signing in (because they don't know or like some maps), or signing in and play maps they don't really know in a cup...

Or you could just have the admin randomly generate the order of maps that are played between the players. Depending on if it's bo1 bo3 or bo5.

All matches were b03 afaik. Pick, pick is terrible imo, especially with this kind of mappool. You have maps like cure, battleforged, toxicity. Out of these i only really hate cure, but thats not the point. Point is, those are maps that people either play a lot or dont play at all. This, combined with pick first rule, favors nerds who grind maps that most people dont play.
