This is wrong on so many levels :(


1) you don't need money, two bot accounts is < $100, and all web development should be done free of charge.

2) You run last cup with ZERO authority!
- You let teams drag playoffs for month, without any good reason.
- Promotion was done poorly.
- Website was crap.
- Its still crap (for example, for final match i can't see which maps were played, and what was result)

3) You all kept your heads in sand while obvious cheaters + really annoying faggots kept ruining games for everyone.

- You all ignored ragequitter kids, coz "the mod is dying and we don't have enough players"
- You all ignored forced team shuffles "the mod is dying and we don't have enough players"


You created such toxic atmosphere, that people (including me) went to damn CA, because it was 100x more enjoyable to play. And all of that toxicity came from 3-5 "good" players that you all ignored because "the mod is dying and we don't have enough players".

When i started to track ictf games via ictf-stats.com there were 180-220 ictf games on a average day.
Now its down to 20. Please take a moment and consider why is that so.

That being said, i wont give you any money. If you really want (and think it will help) I will donate one year of pro account for a bot. I'm already hosting #instagib.ql pickup bot (which was dead for months, and no one cared to fix it) and ictf-stats.

Hosting bot is not only pro subscription. It's also hosting servers where it all can work, which is with Windows.

After 5+ cups played
After building tools and helping community (free of charge, spending months and months and 40eur on hosting every month)
After finding and pulling people from other mods.

I think if those numbers reflect both EU and NA games then the sharp drop in games played largely falls on the NA side as the scene is pretty much dead like it's never been before. Used to have a few servers running each night and now not even one. That's been a lack of community origination and it has hurt the NA side. Our last league/tournament was like 2-3 years ago.

Quake is a minority game, where money is scarce. Insta- is a minority mod within our minority game.

I don't like how people think everything is for free. Unfortunatelly not. We already had to spend some of our private money for OverFrag and we don't mind it. But now it's just too much for us.

I really don't mind showing you all invoices we will get when buying server, bot subscriptions, rewards for cups.

"Buying server" + subscription for the bot = kodisha's pro account (free). It isn't needed in first place anyway, since you could request each team to have one member with a pro account.

Website for brackets + irc for overall organization = free.

Rewards for cups = the $1 already raised.

Where is the problem?! Why do you haters want so bad for one scene to just disappear? Or maybe something else got in mind? Instagib gives a joy to hundreds of players and thats only important. Why 1000$ ? Is that really much for two mods and two cups prizes? And since this is a team game... with this money we can do actually almost nothing.

About Kodisha.. dont want to commentate anything from him cos he is blaming our half year old organization for mistakes of many old players and clans who ruined our scene over the years.

Surprise! Overfrag started with all of this just so we could save a dying scene, if there is actually anything to save.

These 'haters' actually have valid points. Besides you are not the best salesman saying 'we can't do so much with 1000$. It's probably more indifference than hate, and I wouldn't worry so much about it, this is esr after all.

Initiative is always good. Unfortunately you dont make the impression of someone who i would give my money to. I am not involved in this scene but i suppose kodisha brought up some valid complaints concerning your last tournament, which you answered very childish with 'without us there wouldnt be no tourney at all' instead of admitting to some mistakes and promising to improve it this time.

Also as already mentioned 'we cant do much with 1000$' i mean cmon 125 fps league has same budget and it is a much more active scene. You could talk to the devs to get some pro tokens etc. Getting a nice little draft going (perhaps in collaboration with ictf-pickup?)

Hello hello! Kodisha was in our team from a start! what he did? He just said you should do this and this or that, but never moved a finger. He wanted some space bling bling website.. but we said, we cnt afford it or do it now. Its most important that cup is running and there will be time for improvements (better something then nothing)... so he disappeared ! And wow... now he is coming back with some constructive criticism?! damn :)
Oh yeah he told us all critics few days ago in private. So why does he need to type it again in front of ESR community? So most of guys here can jump over us more?

Because it has to be said.
Because you tolerate all those people, and I wont.
Because they DO read ESR.
Because there is slight chance that this will affect you, and you will get more serious, and not let divas dictate format of YOUR cup.

Man, if I register for cup that you are organizing, I don't want you to evade hard decisions by letting team captains vote! It is YOUR cup, we are players. You dictate rules.

You said you have no time to invest in such expensive features (even though i explained 10 times that its 2-5 minutes of work to include discquss comments).
Ok, your call, I spoke to my team, said that i can't play due too much work ;) And also I advised them that they SHOUDL play for other teams, and so they did.


But see, I'm not problem, I am still here, still try to play a game from time to time, still following whats going on. Problem is that we lost TON of players. Clans died, players left to different modes, and two previous websites that used to host those kind of cups (ClanBase and BaseArena) died.


If we want to create good cup, why not invest in promotion??
125fps is hosting TOP LEVEL duel league with IRC + challonge.
Site does help, but unless it has most of the CB functionality, its far more effective just to use IRC.

You should build your website, but please, create a good plan. Its simply not enough to embed challonge into WP theme and ask for $1000...

Create website that has:
- Player profiles
- Clan profiels
- Clan messages
- League pages
- Single matches pages
- Comments on single matches (that was most fun and most commented stuff on CB)


If you build it, they will come. But you need to build it in a right way.
Also, there are other ways to help too:
- Promote irc channel, people can ask for help there
- When AFK, spawn ictf server, and stay in spec, no one can kick you and casual players have servers to play on (i do this when i can)
- Try to get old people back
- Try to get old streamers back
- Try to inform new streamers about iCTF games
- Stream some pcw/pickup games, so people can see high level games



Or, ignore all this, and blame me if your indiegogo campaign fails.

Problem with Kodisha is that he is not active in insta for quite long time already. Yet he still blames people for what happened before he left. Bringing feedback is always good, but doing it "flame style" (see post #12) makes just things worse. He is not the only one that helps us, but the only one that makes it on public forum. Everyone else knows we are trying to help insta community and they give us the feedback on private.

Fair enough. You guys ask for money here. Honesty and transparency are key aspects when it comes to fundraising.
