Yeah, it's a bit, depends on how much you will do of this in the future. If your lenses have an aperture ring, you can slightly disconnect them and set the aperture manually, then it will be the same size for every image, no slight variation.

huh they don't. what difference does setting them manually on the lens make compared to doing it on the camera body

The camera closes the aperture every time a picture is taken, and there can be slight variations in how big the aperture turns out to be.

Just swapped to Samsung NX1, using lenses for Pentax K-mount (swapped from Pentax to Fujifilm X-T1 last May) with an adapter, so for now all manual lenses. Swapped to get better video quality.

nice, im on a panasonic gx7. love the weight of a mirrorless body... i dont understand why people wouldnt want it.

The size isn't why I went mirrorless, but the EVF and how good it is for manual focus. I don't mind the size of DSLR cameras. The NX1 is about the same size as one, and that's nice, I'm also waiting for my grip to get here :P

size was the reason for me. i spent a lot of time hiking/snowboarding with mine. i since bought my 100-300mm lens which weighs a lot and looks a little ridiculous on the body so now i'm packing a lot again but whatever ;)

I think you need to find some views where you can see the shadow from the mountain go left-right, or just more stuff happening.

for the moon shot, was it even a timelapse? because you could have just dragged the moon across. seeing a moon rising over the mountain would have been really cool though and some clouds. I suspect you need high ISO levels for that.

yeah the moon was a timelapse and i thought the same thing as you. its hard to know where a moon is going to rise prior to it actually happening but i hope capture it at some point. the wind nearly always blows from the west here and the with the position of the sun it means than most shots have clouds going left to right. i agree on both your points tho

I think I've tried some cool augmented reality astronomy apps a few years ago. even without AR, some app should show direction of astrological event using the compass.
