cohle is one of the best characters i think in a long time from any program. really dark and attractive. i did not think so much of the ending. the program was building up great from the start and although it was enjoyable it was a bit silly i think seeing him turn into some kind of invincible superhero in this one episode where he is running through the houses with the biker gang,. and when it is such a poetic mystery as to what is going on, like some god like entity they are up against but in the end it is just a fat paedophile, it will make me wish they have taken a page from matybe lynch or kubrick and left some of it up to the imagination on the viewer.

I agree that the ending was a bit underwhelming. Its one of the few shows I love where the last episode is the worst. But by regular tv standards, still way better than most.

Season 2 will have neither of the original 2 main characters which is a good and bad thing for me. Good because I like the nice self contained and wrapped up story. Bad because I really enjoyed them both so much.

See, the whole thing is about the occult. And the occult is all about duelism, light contrasting dark and so on and so forth.

Every character well reflected this underlying theme. The ending reflected this theme well too. The visions, we're never really told with certainty whether they are real or not. I think most assume not. But given it is fiction it does not have to be interpreted this way.

I think it's all rather brilliantly done and the ending was quite perfect. Some of the best writing I've ever seen in any medium.

The production, acting and everything else was top notch too of course.

To me the ending felt like they killed just another Reggie Ledoux and the real mystery wasn't uncovered. Why all that cover up for one hillbilly?

He probably took it from True Detective but "Carcosa" comes from "The King in Yellow", a book by Robert W. Chambers which provided some inspiration for the True Detective mythos. Just FYI.

yeah the only similarity is that he doesn't have rl bound. i never won lg fights against purplerain either.

he has high stats but i played a few maps in a row versus him today and never lost a map or any battles vs him so i'm not convinced he's even cheating (my lg vs lg is not that good at all and i beat him consistently).

but he seems to be french canadian so that's a red flag

nothing he did gave me the idea that it was extremerz. no random prefire rails before i peek (like extremerz typically does to me for whatever reason) no oddball dodging that really throws off my aim while he hits 100% LG at retarded angles, etc etc.

carcosa doesnt do any of the telltale shit extremerz does. not against me at least.

that's a lot of downloads for no reason from 5 people.

Pretty solid performance. The aim is good but the damage is not very high. I've had CA matches where I've dealt ~11,000 damage and my team still loses. Sometimes you cannot win no matter how good your aim is.

All he does is circle strafe, a style that barely requires any mouse correction, pretty boring to watch but good accuracies nonetheless.
