the label refers to the whole, not to that side. There is a shoulder pad, a trigger for the main arm, and a handle for the second hand. Should be obvious from where it shoots.
What? The launcher is shoulder mounted, and the ventilation slots would be facing upwards. IMO it looks sleek, powerful and functional. I love the art-style too, they stuck to simplicity, and it doesn't look as ridiculous as UT3 weapons.
Looks kinda clumsy. What if the mid part was little thinner and some interesting shape at the front end, anything but round as it looks like now. Or what if those openings/hatches/lids that are in the middle would be at the front end.
And I doubt anyone would use it from that kind of an angle - in movies or in game. It usually gets moved lover and further and little more towards middle so you can see more of the gun.
It has to look good from this angle:
that's not a shoulder pad, it is a taint pad. you turn the weapon upside down and place it between your legs. optional harness can be bough in item shop to unencumber movement speed and increase accuracy.
I showed you this image to illustrate the point that realism isn't exactly the main focus of an arena FPS. I used quake as an example, because in quake, the rocket launcher is bigger than Ron Jeremy's schlong, and nobody really gave a shit. In fact I found the caricature style appealing.
It actually does. It's aimed from shoulder, not on/over the shoulder which anyone who has ever held a rifle knows is much faster. Also, the Quake design doesn't block view to the right. I'd say if it's more serious approach then from shoulder, and if rambo'ish approach then from hip or with one hand only (kinda like UT99 had with some of it's weapons http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20000609/reinhart_08.gif ).
Actually, it was specifically designed with movement in mind. You see, the weight of it gives it more inertia, and when that is displace with a rocket, the player is simply dragged through the air.
design looks nice, hope it will have cool animations too and not just stick out of your character like the quake rocket launcher. that kind of "juice" is very important if you're going for a "next-gen" type of look.
reminds me too much of q4 LG which was soo ugly, over engineered pos. Plus that one is shoulder mounted, and in every arene style game, the rocket laucher is hip fired.
ye because, when you talk about rocket launchers, you see an image of a lawn mower in your head. Am I right?
Fucking hate all these generic rocket launchers.
