QL showmatches were fun and there were some funny moments in the studio, but apart from that I don't miss 2gd or his show tbh.

It's been a while since I watched any 2gd stream, so maybe things have changed. But, from what I remember of his stream, it wasn't dubstep 24/7 every break. The chat mods didn't ban for shit that makes no sense and/or ban based on some retarded "bannable word list" made up by twitch themselves, that makes no sense as well. He also wouldn't enable said list on his channel in hopes of being more PC.

What you said is very interesting and important, whether some people will disagree with you or not. I wish many users here would read AND think back about it. Also I don't think that 2GD can give something so important that Faceit, 125 Fps etc can't, I won't say it would be totally useless that he does something though, little is better than nothing, but that's just how I see things.

i absolutely agree with you. if 2gd were to host a quake tournament, it couldnt possibly be a bad thing, but i dont see the demand for it. i think its too bad that the only changes on a week-to-week basis at faceit are their config, when they could be doing so much more. holding live fixtures for their sunday cups (like saltybets, which could also attract more trafic towards their homepage) or more fun tournaments like the legends cup could spice things up quite a lot.

lets say they'd host a russia vs the world (eu): 4 players from each region plays ctf and tdm (bo2, 2 points/map) and duel (1p/map) in a round-robin system, and if tied nominated players get to carry out the hopes of their nations!! just getting some commersially appealing players like cooller, cypher and evil to particiapate and you've got an event.

Problem with something like that is you basically have people dropping out every single week in FaceIT. Got a TDM pickup, sorry. Got to go to the store, sorry. Just can't play, even though I just made the prelims. Sorry.

That sort of 'blame' doesn't rest at FaceIT feet. They may as well have dreams of TDM/CTF etc. But they can't even get a regular NA cup going. How you expect them to run anything other than duel when NA can't bring the players for it, and EU has drop/s every week?

Wouldn't be surprised if GDStudio did some Quake content in the lead up to hyping Reborn, but It's never going to be a thing considering he's basically trying to 'steal' QL player base.

I also think a lot of Reborns success (when it comes out) will revolve around 2GD and GDStudio promoting it as everyday/non-'professional' style casters. Would also rock if Joe came back for that shit.

my idea for a tournament would be a one day thing, instead of a sunday cup for a change. the teams would be based around the already established faceit players like dem0n, ash, pavel, etc. so the risk of drop-outs would be very low.

its not meant to be a regular thing, same as the legends cup they had a while back.

i think 2gd wants to steal people from every fps game.

i watch a lot of different streams and faceit are kinda shit tbh. i mean, qlrankstv were bringing stats from qlranks into its broadcasts and thats one guy and a fucking bot, also one of the first things gdstudio did for their quake broadcasts.

they just seem so stagnant in their production, and it seems that they're losing their audience each week that passes. thumbs up to zeroql tho, his movies are quite good as they are \:D/

I remember when QL was announced @esltv with 2gd, carmac and pro players in their studio. I was so excited that time. I was counting days till the show started. I was also the only one who actually predicted the scores right and the winner (won mousepad new goliathous speed) @esltv (noctis won). After he left ESTV I was kinda sad, but then he came back with his own studio and I couldnt wait for his 1st show. The introduction video and his countdown at 2gd show will be forever in my head. It was so exciting, laughable, so much of joy watching it. I dont know why, but im not even really following faceit or zoot streams. I do watch sometimes maybe finals or so, but 2gd studio I was watching every single time.
Im not saying that zoots or faceit streams are bad. They are probably the best in QL atm, but the joy to watch Quake stream was always 2gd&co. Sometimes I cry died of laughing at his show. And yes, I miss 2gd show too! I just hope they will come back wtih quake ASAP!

PS: They also had sponsor giveaways. Very good gfx cards, mousepads, mice etc etc. This was also something which was exciting to watch since you as spec were able to win something.

It's hard for Zoot, even DDK to even act like 2GD, even if they are actually thinking the same and even if they all have the same attitude, people don't respect Zoot, INS and DDK as much as 2GD.

Seriously, that reason only plays a lot. When you see viewers saying that casters used to "know about the game they cast", or "casters were pro gamers before", or things like that you know viewers don't give a chance to new casters :D but anyway what can you do, "We want more Quake, but we don't want these streams, bring old stream, bring old times, this is boring, bla" it looks like Faceit, 125fps etc are working their asses off for many (not only that thank God!) ungrateful people.

afaik 2gd was dickhead in his early days aswell, and that lifted him quite quickly to the renowned status. i dont say ddk and zoto have to copy James, because it may just not suit them, but imo they both need more lulz and drama.

The old 2GD was my favourite caster of all times. Then he became the type of person I just can't stand. Attention whore who seeks celebrity status without morality or self-respect. Who views every social situation as a power struggle. An opportunity to promote his alter-ego. 2GD today is essentially a camchick.

When 2GD treats other people as stepping stones, quickly the whole dynamic becomes tense, the air is heavier than in turkish public bathroom. Some people seem to not get enough of these train wrecks and sideshow attractions. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to have drama and personality every now and then, but 2GD doesn't know when to stop.
