i've wondered if it's possible to sideload some cheats alongside something like hardware based mouse drivers, but i have no idea how cheats work. seems like a real possibility, though, and since people wouldn't be expecting this at a lan, maybe less suspicious.

def possible...most cheat software (eg: wallhacks) will appear obvious on the users own screen if theyre using it...so if u try it at LAN and someone goes by ur screen and see that u can see people through walls, then gg lol.

if someone who knows theyre about to compete, codes their own shit pre-LAN (or gets someone to do it for them), as long as they remove any indicators on their screen that theyre hacking i dont see how anyone could tell.

i doubt LANs do a full swipe/inspection of every players hardware. (well, if theres alot of $$$ involved i hope for the sake of integrity that they do).

I'm 99% sure this did happen in CS, maybe someone else knows about it and can link to it. I recall it being an aimbot that only made the smallest of adjustments.

it would be pretty fun to see somebody like rapha playing with autoaim and wallhack.

but then that would make him a filthy hacker. we cant have that.

this happened at a lan event in norway. a player called aaseng used what they called "design cheat", practically invisible to the naked eye; a silent aimbot that autoaims.

makes you wonder how many people have gotten away with it before. if that guy had been smarter about it and not blatantly tracked through walls so much, it might have gone unnoticed

One of those the Guy refused to having a judge spectate him in the semis. He ended up going to the "loo' climbed out the window and went home.

there's no way you can hide any cheat usage when there're always ppl behind you watching how you move the mouse, etc

depends on the LAN and how many specs are watching u tbh. i thought that theres only always ppl behind you at super important LANs (ie: quakecon etc)

if u know ur not going to be having that many specs u could probably get away with loading an aimbot or autofire as long as ur not too obvious about it

there're a lot of people on any lan behind anyone and there's no way you can hide aimbot/autoshot/whatever while moving the mouse asynchronously

Aimbot that is set to lowest setting will do only uber small corrections that can't be seen as async to the mouse movement, but will let good aimer to become very good. ;)

this is not mentality, this is personal experience of LANs, there's no way you can do it unless you're provided a closed Starcraft-style booth with noone being able to physically watch you

- You could have an accomplice passing off as a simple spectator who is looking at your opponents screen (groups / playoffs) or big screen (grand final), and then proceeds to transmitting via radio signals the opponents position and/or timing items for you. I saw a film or some documentary on casinos where some dude had a little pin in his shoe attached to a radio receiver and gave him little pricks in the form of morse code or whatever code they chose to use.

- You could take performance enhancing drugs.

- You could sabotage your opponent (food / water supply / full blown aids)

Bland aim assists are totally usable on lan, without them being evident.
They can be hidden in the mouse drivers, so you just need to plugin the mouse and play.
Depending on the lan, they could even be installed through an usb key, since they allow you to install programs to cancel windows acceleration and to set the mouse polling.

fatal1ty beat a hacker at a lan to prove it could be done sort of like man vs machine type thing. Score was something like 95 to -3
