funnyb is a hypothetical (not even sure he exists even), funnyb being most overrated players is a hypothetical, you both attending the same lan is a hypothetical, real players's opinions in your post are all hypothetical, you beating funnyb is a hypothetical, you being unbanned is a hyptoethical and the showmatch is a hyopthetical.
As far as decided, only round 3 and 4 will be casted, but if there is no 125fps there might be a point in casting some of the other matches as well. I will talk to him about it. :)
Nice to see so many swedes! GL to all! :)
Sadly I didnt know if I would have time to participate during the sign up stages but Im not a dueler anyway...I only wanted to show support to these kind of tourneys! :)
Comon! The song is a joke that makes fun of the meaningless popculture of scandinavia. It was made to be a part of a talkshow, and happend to get 300 million hits on Youtube. :)
Looking over the brackets at all the names, you really get the "totality sense" of Sweden's contribution and more importantly, success, in the Quake realms.

final day looks tense. So many bo5s? on one day? and the last being a bo7? I mean I know ppl wanna see more matches but that is a shit ton of games to be played on one day (including lower bracket)
Assuming that me and lejmer win vs the guys in the start of the bracket and play each other - the winner plays vs Zanzan in the end? in dat case dat incorrect placement
No, you get Zanzan if you win your first match. Lejmer gets to play Spartie if he wins his first match. All the names is above the lines, if that makes it easier to understand. :)
Na, all of them tried to sign up, but after the last day of sign ups, so I said no to them. Felt especially good to say no to Lakerman, who after all donated the greatest part of the prize money. :)
can I ask how the older players are expected to play the new maps? toxicity, cure or sinister. I'd replace it with at least t9, dismemberment and somethin else.
No maps will be changed. The tournament was announced in August, and the players have had lots of time to practice. And besides this; it's fun that so many old players signed up, but the tournament isnt about finding the champion of 2007 - its about finding the 2014-champion. This mean maps that are played today will be used.
And besides this, Fox and Z4muz should be pretty comfortable playing DM6, Bloodrun and DM13, and that is actually enough to take them all the way to the final when all the matches up to the final is Bo5.
With that said, I thing you're both are underestimating the old school players ability to learn new maps.
at least include t4 and throw out some of the newer ones. im actually the last one whos against introducing new maps, but when it comes to see oldschool-pros, i wanna seem them on their best maps (which are the old ones).
in the end, did ur plans for the cup succeed? did you get a 1second mention in some local swedish newspaper? no offense, but this cup is super meaningless and a waste of (your) time. shame that you didnt think it through
Actually no, no newspaper yet, but swedish tv made an interview with me, as you probably know. But the thing is that I work part time as a writer for a swedish newspaper, so most of the time I'm the one doing the mentioning.
About this cup being meaningless, it really depends on how you measure success. If you think that time on tv or mentionings in newspapers is the right way, then ok, the cup is kind of meaningless: I will probably not me more famous after the 25th of January than I am now. The thing is that I also work with communications and PR, and I would never recommend a customer that wants to be good PR to start a swedish championship of Quake.
But if you measure success in how many Quakefans that will watch, and in how many old players that actually starts playing again, I would say it is a success already. I also think a great part of the community likes what I do, and that is really enough to make it worth it.
I think you're pretty sad who measures success only in mentionings, and dont seem to see that there are also other values than being famous.
But fine, feel free to not watch the stream on the 25th, and feel free to judge the success in any way you want. But please don't puke all over this thread, it is just not worth the time reading what you have to say about this.
Well, now you're wrong again. The goal is not anything casual, it is to make it as big as possible with a really limited (non existent) budget. And so far it has worked out nice. But I would never do anything without the aim to make it big, because then you end up with something that is just casual.
But on the other hand, we might have different views of what "big" means.
The account was created the same day as he signed up. But I dont know, it's hard to prove anything. But on the other hand, you will probably beat him in the first match, if he even shows up. Ill send you his main on irc, so that you can contact him and decide a date and a time to play the first match.
