Depends on what you consider low, there aren't many players with 50+ cm/360 like strenx, but fairly many with 35-45 for example
Evil got 30cm + hardware kinzu accel, i'd still consider this as mid sens
yeah i'd love to sit down at some pro's pcs and actually play with their mice and cfgs. thing with cfgs and mice and shit is u can hardly ever even get close to a pro's setup, and u can never be sure you're in the same ball park.
i'd like to go to av3k for example at a lan tell him to get up and sit in his place to see his sens
that's actually true, there are so many techniques of aiming that you can't even get close to knowing what does the pro player use till you take it on your own... you can aim with your wrist, your arm, you can do what rapha's doing wich is totally crazy, he's like not even moving the whole mouse but just front side, can't explain
by knowing the cfg and mouse player is using you can deduct only some small things like how much accel, and stuff, but you'll never get in feel of the whole setup
spectating a player also isn't a good idea to get to know what he's using, for example someone might play with kinda low sens like av3k, but with whole arm, and it feels like crazy high sens (wich actually is mid, i'd say) and someone can play with high sens/accel like rapha and you totally won't feel that from spec pov cause he's just using his mouse in such different way
Mouse acceleration changes more then people seem to think it does. If i remember correctly LeXer had 70 CM with high accel, So it is difficult to say if he is mid or extremely low sens.
Strenx = 50+ cm and Kinzu
Cooller = 27 cm no accel (so midlow)
Cypher = 35+ cm, less than .1 accel with offset
Tox = 40 cm, no accel
Fazz=30 cm, .001 accel or something
Zero4 looks a lowsens with accel guy but can't really tell
Pavel = i don't know exactly but he should have a rather low sens
Spart1e uses .8 sens but i have no clue on what dpi, so :D
Of course, but i just checked and it barely moved one single degree when i made a 30 cm flick on 0.001 accel. The question is does it really make a difference or is it just psychological? I would like to see his input and see how often the accel actually kicks in and how much it does.
i tested with 3500 DPI, 0.001 accel and i get "0.04177258354516709" real accel
"The real accel value calculated above is the number of extra degrees per cm gained by moving the mouse at 1 cm/s". You have to make a really powerful flick to make it noticeable unless you have that high DPI.
Although he might not even use that low accel but i checked many configs before and many use 0.1 accel some of them with WMOs so i wonder if that low accel really does something.
Maybe he is confused about the dpi of the mouse. Zowie have 450/1150/2300 not 400. Also by default I believe they are set at 1000htz polling rate which can feel a bit accelerated if you used 500htz polling rate before although this feeling usually goes away very quickly. Another thing you can disable windows mouse acceleration in the control panel in mouse settings by unchecking Enhance pointer precision. If this happens in quake and you don't use acceleration try cl_mouseaccel 0.
If your game supports raw mouse input (in QL it's default value 2 of cvar in_mouse) then u don't need any manipulations with Windows mouse settings. If your game doesn't support raw mouse input unchecking Enhance pointer precision won't help. http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=1846538
I know that but this guy said his mouse had built in accel and it isn't supposed to have it. Just trying to help him out. Thought mabey he execed a config with in_mouse -1.
but man, when you say 0.001 accel and 0.1 it tells nothing, cause i have to know if someone is using windows accel, if he has built-in mouse accel, what about m_yaw, m_pitch, what about mouseaccel offset and stuff
i mean, you know that this 0.001 accel might feel higher than 0.1 in-game?
yaw/pitch/offset are usually in the configs, but yes they make a big difference, and unfortunately many pros use non-default values for them complicating matters.
DPI is also extremely important, because for example, accel 0.5 at 800 dpi is accel 2 at 400.
It should be clear that at 400 dpi there's a gigantic difference between 0.5 and 2.
naaah, no more configs -.- its time for using a ruler and get the real cm/360°.
(i dont think, that they use these low sensitivities, its all lies, so that noobs cant compete)
if that is without accel...it's quiet impressive. also extremely high m_pitch. we all have different brains, muscles and nerves. the day you realize that..is the day you stop trying using pro players configs

To give an idea, I use my whole arm to move mouse. Was using 2.4 sens with WMO/1.1/3.0 no accel.
Just looking for other pro's using something in the 35+cm range. Im currently at 43 but just went to 34.
Problem Im mainly having is that my lg has been phenomenal but rockets, rail, and general movement are awful. Trying to find a happy medium. I used 24 for a couple of days but my LG aim was like 25%
if you use accel, yaw and pitch will scale the mouse movement after accel has been applied. you would need to change both your sens and accel to achieve what yaw/pitch does
imo it's upon time that pros actually say sth on this topic. they could give their thoughs and tell the community/THEIR FANS (!) bout their settings - those are known to be much much desired infos anyway. to me the forever-ongoing ignorance of pros regarding all those mouse setup topics are disrespectful to the community, showing how much of a fuck they actually give bout helping the regular playerbase, including fans.
now its cool and all that you found setups that work best for you. still you shouldnt act like you need to convince everyone else of your ways. i think everyone who plays quake over a long period of time has tested this to an extend where they have developed something most comfortable to them.
your mouse settings might be ideal for you, but that wont matter for everyone else. a lot of factors influence this like the way one sits infront of his pc, the way he controlls the mouse with his hand/wrist/arm/shoulder, the games he played before, his physical attributes etc etc. i for example have always played with mice that have build in accel + at work i have to draw things on autoCAD with a accelmouse. now that i own a mouse without accel at home i mimick that feeling because everything else feels totally alien to me. i am a totally different person than you are and hence what is best to me is totally different than whats best for you. with that in mind its still interesting to see what settings other use but its borderline pointless to try to find a "best" setup for everyone.
