A classic, congratulations. Completely have some player's number*, read and anticipate most of their moves the entire game, and all of a sudden you don't see or hear them at all around the usual areas for an illogically long time. Gee, I wonder, should I start checking if they perchance went hiding somewhere!?

Seen it too many times in pretty much any applicable game.

*My favorite is the type of player who does try to trick you, but obviously does so at every single opportunity and thus becomes completely predictable again... In my experience it's mostly these people who think you're bullshit and are so sure they "got you".

there's a point where i run past that spot a minute or so before i found him, and you can briefly see his model flash behind the wall, so he was there for a long time.

if i were in his situation, i think the explanation would be that i was frustrated, because i expected to do much better against a player with 1380 elo, who ql is maybe reporting as being even or lower skill than me, and so in my mind i would be trying to construct a reason for why my expectations were so inaccurate. the simplest conclusion that my ego can tolerate would be that the game is somehow unfair, and the simplest test to construct would be to hide in a low-traffic spot and wait to be discovered, thus 'proving' my assumption that the game is rigged, because i wouldn't have the evidence of the time my opponent spent looking for me to consider, and vindicating my pre-game assumption that i would perform well.

i think it's a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy allowed to exist due to emotional immaturity overpowering rationality.

but this is only what i think would explain *my* behavior in a similar situation, based on my own irrational behaviors. i can't speak for this guy.

to clarify, i think i would stand still just as a childish act, like a tantrum, but i think that if this behavior lead to a situation like in the video i would be in a mental state to allow myself to behave so irrationally. edit: not that there is some deep strategy to standing still for so long, just that it results in a circumstance that supports an existing state of mind and assumptions.

Not really a milestone for accusations unless it happened on a public server for a (simplified) team gametype that throws elements of map control out of the equation.
