My first project is to build a computer that turns on and runs and shit.
Second is to make replacement sounds for Q3/QL for practice/portfolio and release that into the wild. See what happens with that, maybe join a modding team or do sound design part time.
I'm looking to buy a tablet for school but can't decide on which one.
After that a new graphics card is on my list, no idea which one though .. I think I was looking into a GTX 670.
If we are talking real projects: igmdb.org is open and always looking for help.
i'm looking for development projects to contribute to. stuff with issue tracking.
i'm familiar with php, python, sql, web design and such.
i remember reading about some sort of qltv development. a couple years ago i actually worked on a process for streaming demo files as they were being recorded, but came to a standstill when i started researching peer to peer options for streaming.
edit: i'm really just looking to expand my knowledge & experience. been working for an engineering firm for a while to support my family, but it's not where i'd like to be forever. need to make contacts and such, and this is the best place i know to start.
Well, maybe maverick would be interesting for you to talk to.
He enjoys doing projects like the demo renderer, igmdb and has good conditions because of his hosting service. :)
Not sure what he has planned for the future
I know you are prob thinking bigger or have something more advanced in mind but if you are down for it you can help me bring back a real Quake TDM league for the NA crowd. I'm currently having a website designed and got a guy working on the HTML/CSS and I have a graphics person. What I need now is someone with the skills to bring some functionality to the website (serverside scripting php/whatever type stuff i guess, im pretty nub at it all). I've had a couple of people express some interest but no one has 100% committed to this part yet!
