I can play fun games with ping 60-80, as long as most people my level have same disadvantage;) When a LAN player joins, well, it's a gg. Ping won (you can always grow a pussy and camp/spam like a pro-CoD player, but quake isn't about that, or is it?).

I camp when I have to, I spam when I have to - ping has nothing to do with it.

Long story short; as long as my ping tops at 57-58 without packetloss / spikes, I absolutely don't care about opponent's ping - because it matters so little (except for plasmagun, but that's also quite useable with timenudge -20 at ~50-60) that it would be lame to blame the connection differences. That's why it's funny to play on SWE servers sometimes and beat the 7-10 bastards with 70. :>

seeing that stuff removes any urge I have to play ql, just for the reasons you listed there. you can't play two duels without seeing stuff in chat like you listed above. NA players are egomaniacs ready with any excuse in the book, and will attack you for just your play style. turning chat off doesn't even help, you just get kicked/banned from servers because they are talking to you or asking you something and you can't see it.
