necropolis got pretty weak final unit, but liches and alps rules...

personally i think castle is the strongest town, with monks, crusaders, and archangels... on the other hand manufactory has imo the best final unit, the only ranged one

Vampire Lords best tier 5 in game
Black Knights are best tier 6 unit in game.

Necromancy is what makes Necropolis good though.

Yes Necropolis tier 7 unit isnt the best, but to be honest, they dont even really need it.

Spent endless hour playing this gem and imo necropolis is a #3 city. Conflux, once you get Magic Elementals and Phoenixes, is kind of a challenge to beat (especially Phoenixes, due to its 4 per week popu.), but Castle + Loynis is unbeatable.

I would agree with you, but i think Necropolis in the RIGHT hands, is the best town. But otherwise i would rank it as that too.

Never been a fan of the Diplomacy skill. I tried to play a few maps to see if I can abuse it, but it never worked out so well tho.
Problem is, you need to get the skill on expert level asap and have plenty of money to support it; I used to play xl maps only vs cpu, as even M maps against humans take ages, and playing against cpu = Insane diffuculty = not the best economy. So by the time I got a decent amount of money, it always seemed to be better spent on your own units than a bunch of randoms that would only give you a morale penalty (not to mention you'd need to upgrade them etc).

So I always opted for heroes with Logistics as a starting skill on xl maps, as I felt it gave me an advantage over anything else.

Heroes III was a great game! They should port it to Ipad :)

Look at the link to VCMI below. It's possible to play it on tablets (although not sure how it's been done, but its well worth the try)

I've seen a lot of friends (especially in Russia) play the Heroes of Might & Magic series, but I personally was never that big on it (although i remember some turn-based map against my best mate and NPC dragon motherfucker) and the shit was pretty fun.

got to buy the addon "Shades of Darkness"

played every single version of the serie, from 1 to 6 (didn't play the 5 tho)

A game may take 30min-2 hours. It depends on what map size we're chosing. But for 1vs1 i would go Medium or Large without underground. (I like bigger)
