When do they play?

Since I already made my bet I'll point out that the groupings favor the US by quite a bit. Socrates' group has the Hungary #1 (death? storm? I forget) and really noone else who stands a chance, Daler has cushy group that he ought not lose a single match in (though assuming St.Germaine is France's #1 that might not be as certain as I'd like), and Cha0 has a very cushy group...if he loses a single match in there I'd be surprised.

On the other hand Cooller has ZeRo4 in his group (who's not counted as an "american" for this...so even if he DOES manage a win it will only be 1 pt...and I doubt he will) AND Ni3...it's possible (though not what I'd call likely...) that he won't even MAKE the playoffs. Similarly for uNKind...he's got dreg and Janus (and I seem to recall that the NZ #1 wasn't bad either), and could easily not make the playoffs. b100.death has a fairly easy group, and he is pretty sure of at least making the playoffs (the only person he might struggle against is if22 in his group...after if22 wins the Netherlands' qualifier anyway).

Adding that up even if the US players do TERRIBLE in the playoffs they're still likely to get more "points" just based on making it into the playoffs. At least one of them is bound to make it at least semi-far and even if none of them medal the cushy pools that the US got make the US a pretty good bet. IMO anyway.

dude... the russians wont have any problem one beating janus if22 etc( only st_germain is hard). And they're likely to kick ass on the USA players... only z4 has the edge... he will win again :))

After the WCG is over, i read your post. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Your predictions had a lot of reasoning behind them but everyone you mentioned didn't stand a chance beat the crap out of the "star" players. :D

How do you measure that? Not the most by the fact that even when LeXer kicked the shit out of the Americans at QCon, he was totally beaten out at the Russia premilinaries.

Altho I doubt it really was the skill of the other Russians that made LeXer seem like a total noob there.. (maybe some problems with the drivers, os or something)

the skill level in russia has always been v high compared to other places, i'm sure there was something wrong with lexer but he would still have some problems when playing the other russians if he played good.

Cooller is very good but doesnt have a lot of international playing expirience..He also has an unstable emotions :sometimes he gets angry or scared and looses humilitatingly...I hope tho he's gonna beat z4,he really does have the ability with his skill.
Unkind has an insane aim,but sometimes he gets too furious and totally forgets about using some tactics.
Death...:/ sometimes he playes very well-he s very good at defending so when someone overconfident rushes to kill Death,he's gonna taste a good punch,like it happened to Fatality once,and than to Lexer,if u remember..But usually he's not that good.
