Duel: de/nl/fr/uk servers have always someone playing. day/night, doesn't matter. Online cups with ~100+participants

TDM: http://tdmpickup.eu/ - Fairly active, I'm sure TDMers can be a bit more insightful, I haven't really been paying attention other than seeing people on my friendlist constantly playing.

CTF: noclue tbh

CA: same old, same old

Get premium though, new map rotation is a bitch, prem servers are much more active lately.(duel)

edit: I don't know if it justifies getting a PC just because of it - in the end it's up to you, the activity won't be as disappointing as some try to portray it.

I wanted to play some quake every now and again after selling my pc's a bit back, so built one with parts from eBay that would basically run ql at 125fps and that was it. Ended up costing me about £100-120. And as the guy above said I'd go with a premium account, cheap and makes it a lot easier to play the good stuff.
