That move from bak on the t7 ra was so nice. Took almost no dmg and raped a stacked slip. Overall really solid and smart play.

Congrats baksteen! \o/ And also to slip for 2nd place.

I really like baksteen's style, thanks to his tactics and movement he manages to somehow come on top even when his aim goes completely to shit, like in semi-final against rehepapp. With consistent aim like on ztn vs slip he would be absolute dueling beast.

Zoot and twister are perfect 1v1 casting pair, I hope this wasn't one-off collaboration and twister continues to appear on lvluptv.

Actually, he has very smart play. Reminds me of cooller.

I'm happy baksteen won! He made so many good decisions, traps, damage runs... definitely my favorite player in this tournament! I'm also happy the final was in 5 maps. Sl1p put up a very nice challenge, with very intense comebacks and great display of skills.

Since this was the end for this first tournament, huge thanks to everyone involved, players and staff, with a special call out to twister!! He did an amazing work, taking care of loads of stuff, both before the tournament, selecting the players, making the interviews (thanks ins ;)), and each evening, getting the players, explaining the rules, making sure everything was ready to go on air.

Thanks also to zoot and lvl^, for their support and excellent casting. The zoot-twister combo was a really nice chemical mix, and got better and better each evening!

Finally, I'd like to thank those who donated money to help with the prize purse. Baksteen already got his 100$.

Let's plan the next tournament now :)

is the goal for the next tournament not to have the same players involved?

As twister mentioned in the stream, we would like to have a few tournaments like this one, inviting different players each time, and possibly do a grand final taking the best x from each invitational. There are various things to sort out, so take this as a statement of our intentions, but nothing is fixed yet.

Really entertaining play by baksteen and sl1p. Baksteens rail was sick on ztn. Zoot should really be looking out for a new job, twister made him his bitch :-) Jokes aside, all in all a very nice tournament that reminds me of why I first got involved in the quake scene - the sheer excitement and joy when you see two great players evenly matched up going at it.

Good job by twister and Memento mori for making this possible.

I don't watch duel that often, except LAN events, For me it was boring to watch the same couple of ppl all the time. This little tournament was a real gem for me. GGs!

This is probably the most exciting and fun online tournament I've seen.

First of all, twister and zoot is really dynamic duo as casters.

Second, the selection of players really made this tournament so fun to watch. You could really see how excited and nervous they got in the games when momentum switched. It's like seeing the pro's at LAN.

Props to everyone who organized and supported the Rising Star Challenge!

Great non-pro tournament, very exciting matches and imo the best way to get fresh blood in the scene.

Enjoyed covering this event a lot. Was something totally new. I learned a huge amount about the lesser known individuals in QL and I'm looking forward to seeing the player list for the next RSC :)

Just to add more of the same, really enjoyed watching it.

It was really good longer series from players who you sometimes catch for one map during a zotac and the casting combo worked really well.
