I expect the potential of a 3 fold return on his ESR$ should motivate Epic/DE/Cliffy into getting the demo out ASAP.

i think it would be better for them to wait a few days and see what the odds are, and then bet and decide when to release the demo

But everyone's going to vote for October or 30th September - making the dynamic odds for 'risky' 18th very high... psychology innit :)

the demo is in p2p programs a while ago.. from what some friends in broadband told me its real.. but really dunno, i tend to skip >1Gb downloads with my 56k..

Then the official release will probably be very soon - so put your ESR on #1

well i'm still sitting on my p3 600... ok the gfx card is still quite good (hercules gf2 pro 64mb) and the ram is good too (384mb) but the CPU just slows everything down :(

the game will be more gpu intensive tho, so you should be ok tbh (yer gfx is a good card).

You know that amd xp1700's are only £50. May be worth the cheap upgrade.

One of the first lessons I was taught at Uni was if you think a problem is going to take X amount of time, triple it and then advance to the next unit of time - so if you estimate it's going to take 3 days, it'll actually take 9 weeks...

I'm betting that they'll come across an error and will delay it a week - to at least the 20th.... well, I would do if I had any ESR$ left.

Tho I'd consider changing the date to 15th Sept...

ok, you can now only bet for the periods 19th-30th and October and beyond. 18th and before is locked out... I've also tweaked the odds to make after the 18th more profitable.

You made the later options more profitable, but without being able to bet on the earlier option, that is useless. You should still be able to bet on the 'sooner than 18th' option. Regardless of what information has been released.

A bet was posted of cK vs JP, when it was blatantly obvious (no offense to JP, they are very good) that cK WAS gonna win. Yet that option stayed alive.

So why not leave this option alive. If Epic suddenly encounters a problem (lets say thier internet access suddenly dies, and they are not able to get the demo out in thier newly stated timeframe) then all the people that take the news and bet, lose thier money.

Good points but it was obvious from day 1 that cK would win.

If I were to bring back the option to vote on the 18 Sept again then I'd have to set the odds @ 4/3 (75%), 30 Sept would be 5-1 (20%) and October would be 20-1 (5%)

P.S. To be an utter arsehole, we'll be using Australian times.

That and you made the later options more profitable.... while there has been apparent blatant proof (so we think) that the 'sooner than 18th' option will be correct. The bet is being manipulated in an attempt to get the bet going certain ways, or against another way, which is not right.
