Make sure you have a good sound card to drive those headphones. integrated sound cards won't do it. You need an asus xonar top tier sound card or (something equivalent) to drive those bad boys.

well, if you are not an audiophile it's a great buy indeed, both the sound card and the headset are very good quality for a reasonable price.

well this headphones have high impedance, and integrated sound cards cant deliver the power they need to work properly, so they will sound bad.

best improvement you can make would be upgrading your monitor.

Mouse: Take the DA, imo way better than the Xai.

Mousepad: Ok, but you could get a SS QcK Heavy or Fnatic Edition which are both equally good and do cost less (Fnatic) or the same (Heavy).

Keyboard: If you don't need the wrist-rest you could go for the 6Gv2 instead. This would save you around 50 €.

Headphones: Do you really need those expensive ones? Most of the pros (rapha, stenx, cypher, cooller) play with earbuds below the tournament headphones nowadays, so I don't think there is a huge difference between those expensive ones and let's say the Razer Moray(+). Beside with a onboard-soundcard you won't hear a difference (and if you buy a good soundcard this will ad another 100 € to your budget. I don't think this would be worth it.

Just a note on Morays, I have them and really don't like them. I only use them for portable devices now, or when I'm headout out and don't want headset hair haha.

Mouse: I would go with logitech instead of these 2, but da vs xai, it's ez win to deathadder.

Mousepad: Zowie G-TF or Puretrak Talent or Arisan Hayete (these are the best mousepads ever made).

Keyboard: FILCO Majestouch Tenkeyless/FILCO Majestouch 2 with brown switches.

Headphones: Better to go wih not that expensive, you just don't need so good headphones for quake. Razer Moray is fine, a lot of pros are playing on this ones + some good soundcard.

Do all these new gamer mice come with 500 hz option in their software? Or are mice limited to 125 hz like windows 7

If you are going to buy Deathadder then definitely go with Goliathus instead of SS mousepad.

for 250 you can get the asus xonar that includes a pair of pc350's, just the best bag for buck, also high quality sound card and headphones.

cheapest tesco keyboard possible

Mouse: WMO or Abyssus
Mousepad: Goliathus speed
Keyboard: 6Gv2 is fine
Monitor: 120hz lcd or CRT
Headphones: Whatever you like, sound system in QL sucks anyway :/

Hmmm i sell my LG IPS 236 and get a Benq XL2410T 120 hz
But first - stay on onboard audio and get a Moray or buy some audio card and get pxc 450 help.

Sennheiser pxc 450 + Onboard-Sound (250€) = No difference to Gaming Headset (60-70€) just plane waste of money.

Sennheiser pxc 450 + High-End Soundcard (>350€) = Way better than Gaming Headset + Soundcard but you won't hear a big difference in QL so again it's waste of money.

Don't buy the pxc 450. It's not worth it imo. Go for one of these:

SteelSeries Siberia V2 (70€)
SteelSeries 5Hv2 (75€)
Razer Carcharias (80€)
SteelSeries 7H (105€)

They will all work out great for you and you will have a lot of money left for other stuff that you could want or need.

The IPS 236 is a great monitor but not for Quake though as it is kinda slow (can do 76.5hz still).

The BenQ is nice but afaik it's still much more expensive than the LG W2363d or Samsung 2333rz.
