Sure, you need to open firefox's addon manager and switch to the userscripts menu. Click 'edit' (it will ask you with which editor you wanna open the script). When you got the file opened change the url of 'background:url('http://cityy.explicits.de/img/esr_bg.jpg')' at the bottom to any other url you like.
Changing the colors is not as easy. You need to open the css file of the nicky theme and find all css elements that include a color you wanna change. Then you simply add them to the css string at the bottom of the userscript with your color change. e.g. '#randomid{color:#fff !important;}' - the '!important' is needed to really overwrite the original css file. Note that some stuff is already included in the userscript but not all. Hope that helps.

Yes, change "background:url('http://cityy.explicits.de/img/esr_bg_4.jpg') no-repeat !important;" to background:none !important; and set background-color:#000; to background-color:#111; or #222.

Yeah, I meant to do that but I keep forgetting all the time. I also wanted to make quotes more visible and do some other small fixes. Nukm told me how I can host the images on ESR btw and wn updated his inline reply script.

Testing the new quote formatting atm.
Also, I set the max-width for attached images in posts to 350px - also upgraded comment images to use "max-width" instead of just "width" so smaller images don't get stretched.
I'm still looking into how to make the comments wrap around the sidebar and was gonna ask wn about adding a twitter widget to the sidebar so you could see twitter updates from e.g. lvlup directly on ESR. I don't want to steal too much of his time though so we'll see.. :)

whenever i get a pm for a reply to a post of mine, the link takes me to the right thread and somewhat right place too, but i end up quite a bit below the post i should've been linked too. is that a bug or am i imagining things?

cityy, would there be any way to include something to change the "# users online" into "# users" or something else that's shorter? At the moment if you have filters or an IM, the text overlaps each other. (Alternately if possible could you make like a pop-up in the lower-right corner that tells you you've got a PM?)
