EDIT: You really need to bring back atleast punkbuster, because now every googled free wall/aimbot works like a charm, before only customs worked.

also, they should allow vote kick during game

only bad thing is that some cheaters now know that they're being watched so they try to pretend they don't have nothing

I doubt the issue is a database load query issue and even if it was, going back to the old hard drives would be like using a typewriter to play Quake Live. I'd like to see a cloud solution where it's scalability can handle the database loading peaks that usually happen during bigger events.

It's probably a connection issue being "handled by a third-party company and out of our control" ;)

I've played quite a lot with nikita last year, he did not seem much like a cheater back then.

Had very strong predictions though, but that is also a strenght some people have more than others.
In the video there are maybe one or two angles that looks suspecious, the rest are pretty much where you would keep your mouse without a wallhack also..

Not sure he uses a wh, but if he does shame on him. everybody he beat would be nullified by that.

the rocket means nothing...he couldnt even see so far down to the tele & even then he was firing from quite a distance that it was prediction...theres been many such lucky moments

im not gonna deny that im kind of a friend of nikita's. i played with him alot. never i had the feeling he cheated.

so i watched the vod, and the youtube vid that shows models trough walls. still I don't see why you guys think he hacks.

But It's interesting to see how everybody hates nikita, and tries to get him banned since he started playing.

also the video isn't very objective. it shows all situations only in slowmotion and with the 'wallhack' enabled. This way it only looks like he cheated, but in fact i've seen the demo's, and I don't think anything is cheated at all. No wallhack or anything.

BTW u should've just give the man his ticket to dreamhack, and see for yourself if he cheats or not.

id can ban anybody they want. it doesn't prove that he hacked. there is no solid proof that he hacked.

on a side note, kinda a year ago before all the accusations of him hacking started, he told me when he was like 15 he was one of the best chess players in his country, he showed me his trophys.

can't you just admit that reading the opponent is a skill, that he controles more than others?

i think the community has lost a great and friendly player who was always helpful to anyone who showed a little respect

Pretty easy example is that he exploit the wallhack more that zotac and people goes more suspicious. Previous he wasn't exploiting it that badly. not saying he is legit, but you are saying that particular situation is crystal clear proof. sorry but i've to disagree. just repeat from the point when strenx is showing himself a little bit, the firing happens after nikita sees his model. keep in mind he can possibly have tankjr as enemymodel too which would explain that prefiring.

No, the firing happens BEFORE he sees anything, and without wallhacking you can't predict such a shot. And having tankjr as enemy model wouldn't change anything.

what? i have done the exact thing countless time i mean you hear him jumping towards you and so you try to get a rocket in his face. the wallhack should have actually made it clear to him that he is jumping down and not at him so a different attack would have been preferable

well i know the issues comes up a lot in the ql forums so i assume it is an issue to some and saying its not in the the top 100 of things is exaggerated . but here is why i think its not that important:
- i have played 4,552 matches and never felt that someone cheated and even if some did, it didnt hurt my quake experience
- in tournaments where people take it all a bit more serious, something like pb doesnt matter cause people can get around and a decent anticheat would need more ppl than there are working at ql overall

There is a working anti cheat system out there. It's called ESL WIRE. It is an anti cheat driver which checks your background processes. It also takes randomly screenshots while you are playing and uploads them to the esl-server immediatly after the match, so you can't modify them. It already works with great success in cs, css, cod series and other games, even ut which is rarely played in the esl has it. Why quake live not?
Untill now there is no private hack which is wire-proof, not even organer.pl who is famous for his private hacks made one.
ID most likely won't care about this issue. So the league have to make the game more secure especially when it's about money like in zotac.
