A bit of tape on the bottom solved that for me. I stuck it on nearly a year ago and have never modified or replaced it.

That’s retarded. While changing weapon you're not depending on your aim anyway. I think being able to dodge while changing weapons is of higher importance. Placing two weapon binds on mouse4 and mouse5 leaves your hand on the keyboard in a better position for free movement.

I myself use a WMO now and frankly I liked having RL/GL on mouse 5 and 4 more than on keyboard (I used Razer DA before WMO). The fact that they were there didn't interfere with my aiming whatsoever.

That is mostly correct.

However, the only weapon bind you shouldn't have on the mouse is the railgun, since it will interfere with aiming. It also should not be on keys like f, r, q, 1, 2, 3, 4, since that involves taking one of your movement fingers off wasd. Shift or Space work best.

I also found that having weapon binds on mousewheel on WMO is counter-productive, since the really sensitive wheel will make you hold the mouse awkwardly from fear that you might accidentally make it turn a tick.

I have railgun on space for exactly that reason =).

thats stupid. rail is the only gun u should use mouse1 to shoot with. as the mouse input for the buttons is so much faster than a keyboard would be to press down. especially the pointer finger. any tracking weapon u could u keyboard to fire with.

No, you're stupid. I wasn't referring to FIRING, I was referring to the weapon bind. L2read. Sure you can fire LG with kb, it's actually advised, since keeping a mouse button pressed creates a slightly different friction with the mousepad and messes up your normal aiming.

Use those for other unimportant weapons. If you have side buttons, you could bind those for LG and RL.

The reasoning, as I've said is that if you have rail on side buttons it messes up your aiming, and if you have rail on q r f etc it messes up your doding.

It all depends on surface you use it on.
For me, the experience with Abyssus was mostly negative. On my Goliathus Speed it's totally unusable because of insanely high liftoff distance. Sometimes I feel that if I lift it up in the sky and to the moon, it will still keep tracking. On many cloth surfaces there's a lot of jitter and very frequent sudden loss of tracking.
So far, the best surface I found for it is bare wooden desk @ my work, and it still jitters in some places. If you know a mouse pad on which you can get ~1mm liftoff distance with Abyssus and stable tracking at the same time, pls let me know.

If you haven't been paying attention, the newer models have no problems.

Which da tracks better? I have DA 3G which is praised to track even better than 3.5G and i can certainly say that abyssus tracks a lot better than it...

it handles this polling well but 500hz just feels better for me cos its allways at 499 while 1000hz abyssus is sometimes 800 sometimes 900 and sometimes 989 thats all

Considering getting an Abyssus and I'd like to ask you if the sensor is fast enough for a super low sensitivity user?

My sensitivity goes as low as 360°/55cm and I move the mouse pretty darn fast at times. I can't comfortably play on a mouse that can't keep up with it. I hear some good things about the Abyssus sensor, and I'd like your opinion on this.

So if you're not a low sensi player, could you do a test run on it for me? Setting your sensitivity so that you turn for example 360 degrees on your mousepad and then try and move the mouse across it as fast as you can.

i've got one of the first jittering version of abyssus and it got around 5m/s perfect control speed on puretrak talent, the highest of all mice i ever had. However some ppl reported of it skipping on QCK, unfortunately i havent got a fixed newer version of abyssus to check it's speed limit(and it can be different), nor havent got QCK at home atm

5m/s? How did you measure that? I was never able to skip mx300 and it has a 3.9m/s perfect control speed.

You should be very careful trying Abyssus to skip in this test - 5 m/s is enough to tear off mouse cord completely. :)

Going from a high sensi to low back in the 2003 or something, my shoulder was sore after a few hours of gaming the first few times. But as I played 3-6 hours pretty much every day, my arm got used to it. :)

High five, i bought a Abyssus 2 days ago, aswell really loving it, i can't believe it costs 20€ less than DA 3500, and has same stats, just doesn't have 4th and 5th button. But who cares, quake3.exe only has 4 coded. Originally i went to buy a DA, but they were all out except the 1800 DPI GW ed. one and the MAC one, glad i didn't buy either of those.

Had money for a pizza and some beer later on.

Well, as i said Abyssus is like razer DA, without 2 buttons, and a bit smaller dpi can be adjusted to 450/1800/3500, i prefer 450 anyway :) 20€ for 2 buttons is silly imo.

I didnt like the abyssus at all..

I've been using the Logitech G1 for a very long time. I've tried out other mice, but none has ever felt quite right, so that's why I've been sticking to it for so long. But this Razer Abyssus... this is the first mouse that feels great - better even - than the Logitech G1. Almost perfect.

And it has actually improved my accuracy. I'm not sure if it's the DPI, 1000Hz polling or beause it doesn't have any angle snapping (unlike the G1), but it's just so much easier to put the crosshair where I want it, almost effortlessly. It's very precise. I guess the G1 held me back because it wasn't 100% consistent (i.e. has angle snapping and more limited acceleration). But nowadays with the Abyssus, everything feels just so right.

The only thing I noticed when I first started using it was that the edges are rather sharp on its sides. But as I used the mouse more, I adjusted to it and placed my ringfinger just slightly differently. And now that is no issue anymore.

I've heard people saying the Abyssus has too high LOD, like it's impossible to use or something. This is not true at all. I was quite concerned about this when I was thinking of buying it, but I'm glad I finally decided to get it anyway. The LOD is not at all as bad as some seem to wanna make it. It is slightly higher than the G1, but not in a way that affects me at all.

I don't like the plastic on the bottom part of the sides. Sticking with the G9X without a grip for now (only playing SC for the moment though).

you mean in the QL stats? I think they are showing a random game and freeze those stats, they never change even one digit.

just wanted to chime in here and go against all the ppl here who obviously work for razer and say i bought one and returned it straight away.


tbh it just felt like a cheap piece of tat the buttons had WAY to much resistance to them and it had no wieght to it whatsoever but main problem here was that the mouse feet were TINY compared to every other mouse i've used



this caused massive problems with getting smooth mouse movement because the mouse sliders were that small that the plastic around them was catching on the mouse pad which meant you literally had to put no pressure on the mouse whatsoever.

So far IME 3.0 for me has been the best mouse. I bought an abyssus, worked for 4 days and then on the 5th started jittering on my cloth pad, so I bought the goliathus speed. It also jittered on that on all settings (the ones given on the back of the mouse). If anyone has any solution to this, help would be awesome or if someone could link me to this... "new model" which doesn't jitter (NA). Also, I needed to adjust my grip to the abyssus where as IME 3.0 was fine from the start and ridiculously smooth.

I was useing an abysuss untill a couple of days ago when the mouse1 button broke (always happens to me with razor mice) so now I went back to useing my old salmosa. It's crazy how much predicition it has compared to my abysuss, the abysuss probably has the least amount of predicition out of any mice I've tried.
In my experience mouse predicition is good for lg/mg or any sort of hitscan tracking weapon. My lg accuracy has gone up by about 5% percent average since I've started useing my salmosa again. I know that many players with good lg aim used mice with predicition or m_filter 1, such as stermy, toxjq, cypher, jibo (best shaft in CPMA/vq3) and many more.
On the other hand I've found that my rocket aim was much much better with the absyuss aswell as my movement which I'm pretty positive is due to the lack of predicition or angle snapping.
I think I'm going to stick to my salmosa for now, it also has a better shape in my opnion.

The abysuss is a great mouse, just be warned that if you are used to mice with predicition/angle snapping you might have a hard time switching over and that your overall hitscan accuracy may go down. If that's the case I reccomend you go for the salmosa instead.

Wrong. WMO and abyssus sensor have no prediction.

My abyssus works flawless so far. But still I found one major flaw that cannot be fixed, and that's the DPI steps. Why oh why did razer think it was smart to leave a 800 - 1000 DPI step out? Let's forget about ridiculous 3600 DPI, I can chose between way too slow with 450 DPI or way too fast with 1800 DPI. This kind of pisses me off, still not the perfect mouse :(

In my adventure with quake I 've changed many mices - from logitech mx300 (my lovely one), mx310, g3, razer salmosa and at the end of my searching of the best one I bought abyssus. Wow - great mouse - light, well shaped with incredible accurate sensor - played 2 months with pleasure - my accuracy was still better until left button started to disrupt. After one week It stopped to work at all. It was really one of the best mouse I've ever had - so I decided to buy another one (yes ... another 35€..). Abyssus Mirror-Edition. This one worked about 7 months without any problems until the flaw occured again. Left button failure. Now I have 2 nice-looking and very expensive pieces of shit on my desk :( ...

3 months ago I've bought on ebay 2 cheap not-used WMO. A little bigger and maybe heavier than abyssus - but accuracy and during-game-feeling is even better :) - and I'm sure the construction of buttons are better than in filigree abyssus..

Why not use the warranty and get them fixed/replaced?
