I everyday play with non-premium friends in duel, but I, as a premium user, have to play standard map.
We can't spawn ok, but at least let us invite ONE person to play with...
Other than duel, only in pickups you can play a ctf or tdm premium map, so almost never

Yeah it sucks. Even spawning a server if you want to get games going with randoms fast you have to spawn standard not premium content. Standard starts pretty fast premium is a long ass time before people join. True enough public games are not premium at all.

Also, this has really no relation to the state of pub gaming.

I play with lower skilled guys very often, I can't really help it as the player base in South Africa is so small. I try to make up for it by not being too hard on them or giving them advice etc.

it's easy to tell he tierslums by looking at his opponents. Other than kujoe and _mrgreen, noone else in his games from the last 2 days were against tier 4 players. mellowtab is at best a low tier 3 player for example. So obviously he's found a way to abuse the new tier system as well.

Nah but the tierslumming does kill the game. Not to point any individual out but it needs to be fixed. Two fridays ago they made it so noone could join lower servers except on private servers and games on pubs were close. This would help the game and then also help private servers get more traffic since all tiers can join private servers.

The lack of stability in teams is huge as well, you have teams that form almost every other day yet they have same people in them. People only want to play if they have a stack team as well or lots of them do.

Too many people do make this game too much about shame or about the ego for sure it only ruins the game. It's not fun to play a game where people talk trash about how people suck or how their movement is or whatever, losing is enough but many like to add more crap on top of it.

Some of the teams do like to call other teams out too about scrims, rather than private messaging or if they get turned down (even politely) they continue to go onto a server and call out for scrims or whatever so they can make a team look like cowardice or something. It's all good for teams that are elite but if you are just regular folk who may be medium range it just makes the game pretty lame.

You also have people who create aliases to ring to scrim teams if they agree without looking at the players. It's ridiculous for people to create a whole new quakelive account so they can ring. Then they shoot like 44 percent lg 60 percent railgun and only die like 8 times. Then you look at their profile weeks later and they still haven't played a game since. It's ridiculous to create new accounts so you can sneak a scrim against a team and make them look stupid with aim thats better than the people in 8x or #b or any of those leet teams. It just makes accurate survey of how many people play quakelive false and it makes the game untrustworthy and foul.

I'm sure you remember Av8r and lollercopter. His 2 righthand men from clan EQ, which has other douchebags that love tierslumming (just check out their website full of screenshots). I could almost go so far as to say clan EQ used to dominate CTF on us servers (even jones was in eq for a while)

The attitudes they used to show players in games was disgusting (this was before incubus managed to get a modspot from sync). Now he doesn't talk sh*t anymore. But ask any of the old schoolers who played CTF4 in early 2009 and they'll tell you. It was elitism at its' worst back then. If you were in those servers, you'd hate him too.

One of their most annoying habits was/is joining a game and pushing the ready up button repeatedly (when teams are still unbalanced). after stacking the teams.

Look, they've done a lot over the years to drive people away from the game. Dont underestimate that. It's impossible to prove but there's no doubt that CTF on U.S Servers has taken a serious dump since summer 2009 (pre quakecon even). And everything incubus/lollercopter/av8r etc were doing was leading right up to quakecon. After that, incubus continued on single handedly, while lollercopter (adrenal1ne now?) dissapeared and av8r started playing at a diff timeslot.

What people should be protesting is the developers attitude towards it. The fact that they have allowed it for all this time, and play with him ever so often (with .404/.403) tells you a heck of a lot about them as well. I know for a fact that nothing was ever done in the past when people sent in demos about incubus' behavior (pre-modship). He's obviously very tight with Syncerror but it's ridiculous that he's allowed all these priveleges (unlimited accounts) and get away with his actions.

It reflects poorly of those in charge (devs) yet they don't care. It's high time for change at the top.
