it depends if you just a wannabe, q43a used to be called militia, beta MP, no1 on here or anywhere reads anything, no1 can install mods manually, q43a is q4 militia but a newer version. some thing its still beta MP and aload of crap because its beta, and not done by some suckasses at uni calling themselves a team and actually caring about the world and pride

quakeunity only has q4 militia 1.6, and wont allow no other version, and the upload form doesnt work. and that has 2000+ downloads

if id wasnt shit and it wasnt just carmack that does any work, the SDK dll would probaly already be something like Q43A source

theres at least 100 small glitches that take 10mins to fix without recoding alot, like materialType footstep sounds, ai not heving no hearing... etc etc

Q43A has different release along with militia using the same version num, the dll has a build number using cvar gm_version to find out what it is, on servers they get all mis-matched, and you dont know if you have the right dll or not, not even with pure server in Q43A, if the dll build num gets to 10, Q43A will be 1.1.16

... if you have Q43A and patch 1, the dll build is 1.1.16, so if you run a server, you would be best adding :

seta gamename "q43a b#16"

in your server config, which will change the mod name to q43a b#16 in server browsers etc, and on q4master if the mod was`nt banned and filtered

so keep on playing offlline with illegal cdkeys

its too bad if you never tried q4 militia mod in the past over the years..

all the tears about quake games, try Q43A, and all the recoding, then if you can cry or complain because most of what people complain about has been recoded, you can make custom damagesets for your server and matches to run on, and edit whatever else you want and need to edit, i couldnt care

from q4 militia -> Q43A, in difference of code, Q43A is a lightyear worth of difference and not beta MP

and to add some of the new features recoding is needed or the sync snapshots would flood and everything would just be a pure waste of time if all of it was 100% unusable in a game. like mp vehicles and view frag/team winner at the end of games, ET etc are probaly just some small code in the engine

the projectile cpp is 90% recoded and all launched projectiles are 100% serverside, with all the code to colorize fx when projectiles pass through func_liquid

and all the other same old shit

configs in any quake will autoexec on game load and set the cvars that are seta cvar

ingame, drop the ingame console and type listcvars to see them all
type condump cvars.txt for them to be saved as a text file in the quake folder, same applies to listcmds

Damn I wanna go and drive a big tank in militia asap! Can't even imagine how fun that would be =)

remove the hoverpads in the def file, and play 3d tanks instead of crappy duel

vehicles in quake 4 mp is no worse then UT, q4 just has crap vehicles

and having 800 q43a servers on q4master would be just like UT, with different server setups and map pools

favoriates isnt just about ping, for retards who do nothing else but play crappy duel

if you want some UT action, you just change servers, not the whole game

there are no megatextures in q4 and most custom maps for q4 are complete rubbish, so any vehicle in a MP map would only actually be good in a industrial complex, all walkers and turrets, no room to move a tank/gev

all of q4 custom maps have to actual lighting, because of the big FPS drops every1 has on dedicated servers, in Q43A FPS are 90% caused by big skyboxes, not the code itself
