In general, Bayern has been outstanding the last two rounds. They dominated Manchester united 3 of 4 halftimes, where the referee was rather pro-ManU, and now dominated Lyon in a way a semifinal has never been dominated before during 180 minutes.

What a sick domination, a semifinal of the CL has probably never been been dominated and played with such superiority during both 90 minutes before.

Everybody who saw the first game know it should have ended 3-0, and now Lyon got outclassed in their own arena as well.

This Bayern equipe is incredible, and anyone who thinks its a 1-man-team has no clue.

The last years, Ribery has been considered one of the best players wordwide, now it's Robben.
What happened? Lahm moved from left to right. I'd argue Lahm is making the wing players able to play their very best game. Frankly, what Lahm has shown during the domination of Manchester in 3 of 4 halftimes and in the Lyon games has been nothing short of incredible.

Schweinsteiger is great in the middle. He has finallay reached his potential as a superstar player. And the whole team is playing a high press at a level that makes them completely run over Manchester and now Lyon. They are winning so many balls early and the putting pressure on the opponent all the time.

2001 was the last glorious Champions league victory. The next one could come 2010 for this big team. And again, Bayern München is the only primetime club in Europe with sound financing completely without debts, a russian milliardaire toy-owner, or unfair advantages, which all the other 5-6 topteams in Europe have at least 1 of. Simply the best club in Europe in that way.

I seriously don't see who has been better at this position this season, and he has seasons like this before. Just thinking back to the last world cup, Lahm was considered the best defender at his position there as well.

Oliver Kahn is considered one of the best goalies ever, yet made some huge mistakes in his career.

To be honest that goal is more Lehmanns fault than Lahms.. Lahm still has Torres on the outside and could have forced a closed angle on the shot, Lehmann meanwhile charges for the ball, hinders Lahms movement by sliding directly towards him and then gets caught out in no mans land. Not saying Lahm did great though, just that he could have recovered if it hadnt been for Lehmanns fuck up !

lehman had to come out to close the angles, if lahm misses the tackle torres is 10-11m away from a free goal. there's literally no time or space for a recovery. lahm lacks the physical attributes of a great defender, he got dwarfed by torres speed and power.

I can't remember a semi-final, or ANY CL game, so devoid of passion and excitement as Lyon vs Bayern was last night, total embarassment for the competition really. Although it really highlights just how terrible Real Madrid are to lose to Lyon, that's about the only positive from this match.
