a blue pop-up when it updates the virus database. doesn't steal focus. can be disturbing in games etc, but it's minor.

edit: just found out it's really easy to disable that pop-up, so I did. it's totally silent now.

You can try Security Essentials from MS. Supposed to be good enough in terms of virus detection. I never had any focus stealing with this software.

Just switch it off, No need to have AV running constantly if you follow some simple rules like: don't run everything like a mindless drone, don't use ie.

i use avira.


it bores you here and there with an ad window, but it doesn't switch you to win anyway, and it's pretty good. and free.
