I am currently looking into buying the Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 LED monitor.

I was wondering if anybody has this monitor already, or has heard much about it?

It has the 2 ms response time I am looking for, but I am looking for information regarding the maximum refresh rate. Is the Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 capable of using a 120 Hz refresh rate?

I am tired of using this 25 ms response time POS LCD monitor, hehe.

If it doenst say 120hz then its max will be 75hz at low res and 60hz in native.

If your gonna buy a new moniter just buy the 120hz samsung or viewsonic.. (5ms but 120hz!) Providing u dont mind spending the extra bucks!

Ignore the 0 ms or 2 ms. Go for the 120Hz models. You won't regret it.

I see you got the viewsonic model, which OS are you using and is it possible to use 120hz at non-native resolutions? Also, my DVI input is broken, does 120hz still work through vga (D-sub 15)?

You can't use 120 Hz with the analog cable. You have to use the dual link DVI cable (not two DVI slots, just one) which usually comes with the monitor.

I'm using XP and to be honest, I haven't tried the monitor on resolutions other than the native one, but the scaling works through the ATI CCC so I think I should be able to use 120 Hz on other resolutions, when needed (just haven't tested it).

Thanks for all the comments.

Just to update for you guys, I decided to go with the 22" ViewSonic LCD with 120Hz and a 2 ms response time. Was marked down to $299.99 from $399.99, just could not pass it up.

It's amazing how much of a difference the monitor makes. I can actually see now!!! =)
