2GD is the best Quake commentator out there, he's got a lot more insight into the game then any other commentator I've seen/heard.

imo he is not that good in commentating, but is very good as a "pro" who's got the insight and can therefore help a good commentator like djWHEAT or Joe

the game isnt rocket science...you dont need to be a pro to realise whats going on when you have both povs and have followed the game for n years.

to be a pro all you need is:
- practice
- basic arithmetic
- high aim %

There's no neo in the matrix stuff going on where only they can explain whats really going on

listening to the quakecon cast was a painful experience imho, there was so much detail they could have talked about but simply didn't have a clue about :/

wheat's put alot of effort into his commentatin, and he sure knows how to talk and put on a show.

but i prefer 2gd, he can offer way more insight on the game than wheat can, and comes across as somewhat whitty aswell.

2gd's commentary for quake is somewhat similar to what tasteless can do for starcraft.

whereas a wheat commentary is amusing to listen to, it doesnt offer something more to the game, for the audience, he just summarizes what happens on the screen.

2gd in the other hand says stuff that is a bit deeper:

"yeah thats a nice trick i would have done to .." going on the explaining what the player just did.

or when he sees a player is about to put up a 'trap' for the opponent, he sees it, wheat wouldnt.

wheat does add something more imo, not as much as 2gd though. but like you said, wheat is a much better host and i personally find him very entertaining.
2gd and djwheat would be my prefered team for any quake event because i think their individual skills compliment each other well

Ofc though Wheat is the god father. years ago when there was nothing for commentry in so many e-sports games. We had wheat. who has gone on to be one of if not the best Host/commentators in the industry

But wheat has new goals and challenges. He helped quake become what it is today, and he casts many other games now and is helping other communities grow. for example his recent move into sf4.

I doubt he has time to be an active player with so much going on. and he does the play by play and hosting so well. he doesn't have to be an expert. That's a co-mods job. But his knowledge is still very good

Me on the other hand, I'm just trying to play the games I cast to bring expert knowledge in quake/wow and soon maybe heroes of newerth (your not allowed to lol at me esr!)

Unfortunately with other projects(mainly WoW) I haven't been able to put in some good dueling time into quake. which I have always done before shows. this always helped me be ready to analysis players decisions and game situations fast enough to be able to commentate on them quickly and coherently.

This show I wouldnt have put anytime into the game for a good month :( But I'll let purri be the expert. I only want to bring you the best I can give. I'll take up quake again on the 21st (project deadline) So hope my performance is good enough, but really thanks to the players playing in the KOTH. alot of you may have paid for premium (3 months) So the pro's playing helps ESL TV out alot. and hopefully you guys have a good time watching the games.

Hopefully I will cast with djwheat. I hope for Quakecon '10

would definitely watch any HoN coverage if its in english and your co-host isn't the same as WoW.

I'd say it's worth supporting, make sure you get the concept of play days vs. exl tv premium days though or you'll quickly end up paying for something you most likely don't have any use for.. so if you decide on getting premium remember to convert ALL of your "play days" into esl tv days right away.

I still learned a few things about dueling from your casts even though I've been playing q3 for countless years and watched literally thousands of demos and games. it's nice to have such a really professional analysis of what is going on in the game, you make it feel much less like a shoot-what-is-bright-colours-point-and-click and more like a mind game between the players. it's awesome, simple as that. don't listen too much to people like dird, he's proven to be clueless countless times on servers and forums. :P

heya, I sent out 4 products a week. to keep the postage costs low and regular so noone would kick up a fuss about a 200-300euro bill :)

So all products have been sent out. last batch went just about a week ago. It was sent via German post.

All mice got sent out pretty early. apart from the Mamba, but that has also been sent.

Razer have paid the prize money to the winners today (well k1llsen has). Delay was because spartie giving lack of details and Razer wanting to pay everyone at once when information was all correct :)

But its all tied up here now.

I still didn't get anything :(
