I just can't believe this! This looks like a commercial game made by a huge development team.

I'm a SupCom fan and have not played TA or spring. But in this spring trailer one thing looks much better than SupCom:

u mean zoom all the way in/out???

if so, yes they have.

theres a horde of mods that u can play. My personal favourite is NOTA, which is guess would be kind of similar to SupCom( im pretty sure SupCom devs must have played it ). The most popular mod is Balanced Annihilation, and that mod can be quite crazy, and funny. You can very easily expand your economy exponentially, which ends up in the most ridiculous unit spam ever.

How big is the community?
Is there any online matchmaking service or something?

it has its own IRC client thingy with an inbuilt server browser thing. Its really very neat, there are lots of autohosts etc, which are essentially dedicated servers.

Most of the time, people play large team games, things like 4v4+.

There isnt a matchmaker like there is for SupCom, but you really dont need one. The community is fairly healthy, with ~200 players online at any one time. Its really worth trying out, its a really fun game :) Theres lots and lots of different style of game, and also, theres loads of LUA plugins u can get.

Well I don't have any idea how NOTA plays, but I hope you play Forged Alliance, THEN decide which one is better. Forged Alliance is what SupCom should have been in the first place.

NOTA's trailer looks absolutely amazing. The scale, gamespeed, feel of the units, animations, explosions... all awesome. tbh, The scale of the game actually seems to be better than SupCom :D

But SupCom has its own unique features. In NOTA's trailer I could see that you can zoom all the way out, but it doesn't show units as icons so that you can easily see what's going on on the play field. This feature gives SupCom a really different gameplay than other games (and it's the reason why a lot of people hate SupCom though!)

what i meant by mobile comm is a commander that can move. In nota u get place one big starting tower, that has a large build radius. If you want to expand to another part of the map, you have to make constructors build expansion towers, which can then build stuff like defenses etc.

i only played the Sup Com demo.

In SupCom, you can use the commander as a constructor or as an offensive combat unit. And the goal of the game is to kill the enemy's commander! So, it is probably played different than NOTA.

I recommend that you try Forged Alliance. And, I should try NOTA!

ye i know how supcom works, ive specced a couple of games. In normal Total Annhilation, the commander works more or less the same way, except u can set the rules to be that Game doesnt end if commander dies. Also, the commander has the D-Gun by default, which means you can get some really nice clutch moves when ur commander kills like 20+ units in 2 Dgun shots, its great. Also, a common strategy when Commander Ends is off is to put your commander in a transport, and to fly in over your enemies defense, its like a portable nuke. Ofc, if u do that, u will want to reclaim the metal asap.
