Hi,

I've already set a timelimit on my router for the ip of my computer for 2 hours, this is also functioning fine, but the problem is I find myself going to my parent's computer and continue surfing there then I exceeded it ...

I have also Internet at University Terminals ...
but there it is not so bad ...
I only use it there If I do not have to do anything else ...

The problem is somehow you need to be online nowadays ...
here and there I have to download something, check e-mails,
read some news ... download some materials for uni ...
but the problem is I can't control myself ...
maybe only 5 % of the time I am on the net has a purpose ...
the rest of time I am just purely wasting ...
I really want to fight this ... does anyone have tips for me?
Well maybe this is not the right place to ask this ...
but I am really in despair :-(

Simple, get rid of your broadband connection and replace it with a 56k modem which is what I did.

and even light surfing.

Basically it does away with things like filesharing/youtube it makes it harder to get distracted which is what you need.

treat yourself then maybe on the weekend, get all the files you need and veg out, play games etc. you app it more and become more productive.

That'll be the best answer you read in this thread.

P.S.
I would avoid IRC all together, its like trying to give up alcohol and then spending every night in a pub.

Unless you have something of real importance to be doing does it really matter? Do whatever you feel like doing with your free time...if its the internet then so be it. I would recommend playing sports or going to the gym or something over the internet, but free time is free time, who gives a shit what you do with it. As long as the internet isn't making you miss school or work or whatever is of priority in your life then fuck it.

Ditching IRC and especially instant messengers is a good first step, to me it happened accidentally and from that I learned to never or very rarely to look back, in occasions to find certain GTV-address or 'enjoy' atmosphere of certain tournaments.
