dont forget qpo had tech & prozac in their team, who practically joined the team for LA7. Without them they were not that strong (but still very good of course)

I loved all these bigs games, you'd get so many people on irc hassling for GTV etc. Just like when QCON ran a few good q3 cups a couple of years in a row - a tdm cup then the 4v4 ctf cup. The euro vs USA rivalry made it so interesting.

imo its very unfair to compare. cpm has never had prestigious tdm competition, if it had as many eurocups/ big lan tourneys as vq3 then i think cpm would have blow vq3 out of the history books and we would be looking at cpm as right up there with nq, qw and q2 as having some of the greatest tdm matches ever.

ofc there was no chance of this every happening as at the end of the day its just a sub-mod for q3 which was in itself a relatively small community anyway.

Maybe q0 /w cpm, or cpma standalone can change that one day.

thatcpm tdm tourney was pointless, everyone knew who was gonna win from the start and the final was a whitewash

that tourney was pretty obvious from the lineups ye =)

Not to mention the W/O meh dunno why people bother try such things in cpm anymore it was bad enough trying to run a tourney when people actually played the game

That's actually the match that made me start with esport. I went to LA7 to take a look and watched that match on big screen with that crazy ProZac doing amazing quad runs.

Anyone mentionned the sox things ?

well just that after the match, ProZac went to the stage and didn't wear shoes and he spoke about how better was his aim while playing without shoes

It was funny seeing him on a buzz explaining he could only think "frag frag frag frag" while doing quadruns. :)
