Being our resident crustacean, lob has decided to show us all that you don't need hands to be a wanker! He's gathered frags and demos in secret over the past few months. The way the clips were edited, leaving some time after the actual highlight, made me think more was coming up; sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't (which left me disappointed).

I can only agree to the fullest here.

Don't get me wrong, the video isn't bad. But those 1 or 2 seconds of nothing happening, which seem like a cliffhanger for some next frag really did hurt the flow.

None the less. Great watch. Quite different somehow, probably thanks to the music, which made it really refreshing.

See people, these vids are much better when they don't take themselves so seriously and can poke fun at things.. nice work claw.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot how GOOD LOOKING Quake 3 can be with all the graphics turned up. Was quite refreshing to see the same maps we *always* play in this light.

i still gave it a 9, the frags were good, so was the overall presentation, it just looked like he wanted the movie to be 'crazy', and adding one, admittedly wierd scene that has nothing to do with anything to achieve that ruined a part of the feel for me, therefore it got a 9 not a ten.

Don't think it's so much about female gaming as it is about how all this money gets put in to them when most of the players don't really deserve it. Hence the bit in the song "it's all about the money".

Either that or he really hates women, probably a bit of both... his claw seems to click more than it clacks if you get what I mean.

I agree with most comments here, very funny movie, frags in the
first one are definitely better as well as the music used .. but still
very refreshing not having to turn off sound because of awful
death metal/grind or pointless shit techno as in other movies

I, for one, enjoy a lot of metal out there (exluding nu-metal, which I agree is total shiat). But if it's done well (which takes lots of listening to get a hold of, I know, cause a lot of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a tech-death metal act and a grindcore act), I'm definitely into it.

However, I think it's really hard to find 'that' song that'll mix the perfect blend of true-metaldom and still fall within general audience's tolerance for metal. More than that, it's gotta be syncable -- which most of the more extreme metal just cannot even be approached.

Hip-hop and techno seems to be the most easily sync'd music, which makes me love to see, or even attempt for myself, a frag vid that uses a good metal song.

Only frag vids I can think of that use legit metal are Power of Speed (Manowar, Children of Bodom, and Nightwish), that 'lof.ra3.u2' (?) montage which uses a Therion song, and Vo0's "Used and Abused" (using a great song by Finntroll [polka-folk death-metal!!!! ftw]).

dont get me wrong, I really do like good metal ala Crowbar, (newer)Carcass or from the newer bands Mastodon etc, but I think most metal makes up for terrible (game)movies.

The intro is by a electronica artist called 'Prefuse 73'. He's in that weird league filled with people like Aphex Twin and mu-ziq and perhaps some of the more abstract Squarepusher stuff.

Anything off of Aphex's old record label "Rephlex" is bizarre. PP Roy, Cylob, Mu-ziq, Squarepusher. Autechre is kinda weird also. Aphex Twin takes the cake, imo, though, for weirdness.
