If C Ronaldo and Carvalho play for the same national team. does that make them teammates or not? Should he just pat rooney on the back for his good kick, or is he allowed to show emotions.
Or from a different perspective, if C Ronaldo kicked John Terry in the nuts with Rooney standing close to him, would you honestly believe he wouldn't do anything? Or would you maybe accept the Rooney is a little angry in that situation.

maybe rooney would be trying to pull the other england players off ronaldo and shield him and help him, not run straight to the ref...

I highly doubt he meant to step on him on purpose, it didn't look like it at all to me. Other then that, I would think if they play together so much Ronaldo wouldn't be so quick to cry about it. I mean, as teammates you don't ask for him to ejected over for what we know could've been an accident.

That aside, I think the ref. actually gave Rooney the card due to the fact that she pushed another player aside and not the alleged foul. In which case I still disagree it should be a red but whatever. The way France has been playing, they'll trump over Portugal hopefully.

Just watched it again, and maybe just maybe he didn't want to kick him but I definately don't think he tried not to either, he just wanted to stay on his feet and didn't care if he would step on Carvalho. And it's not like he made a light step but it really is a kick.

However, I don't believe he wanted to kick him where he did.

i want portugal to win for 3 reasons:
a) france style is too similar to the italian's one (and the portugal's one is better to watch in the final, tbh)
b) italy have bad memories about france, that's for sure (euro 2000? and so on)
c) i think they are stronger than france and italy, mainly in mid field.

I recall their '98 team as being one the cleanest and most honest in the competition, I'm glad they won it for that reason alone. Admittedly they've not been as honest this year but they are still the cleanest of the teams left in cup.

In that sense they are the complete antithesis of Portugal who have been pathetic. Having played a competive sport in a league I have met people who will do literally anything to win, it's a sad sight to see an adult degrade themself through gamesmanship and cheating.

This game will need very good refereeing. If I was French (thankfully by chance of birth I'm not!) I would be happy with the ref from the England vs Portulol match, I thought he had an excellent game and ignored all the diving and playacting.

Easy one for France.

Sheesh Portugal must have set some kind of record in the diving category. Awful team to watch.

It was stunning to see how Portulol got 4 minutes additional time if you noticed how France didn't pull any time at all in the second half. Unlike Portugal, who cry their hearts out so very often, screaming for free kicks, penalties and cards. The looks their heads presented when this (very good) referee didn't go along with their soaps shows were amazing. Portulol deserves an oscar for only that.

Ronaldo got hissed on the whole game, and still he kept on acting as usual. He won't ever learn. Also a shame for Saha. Faggo made the foul, and Saha got the card that prevents him from playing the final. He got Figo'd, like Bouhlarouz got Figo'd.

Great stuff to see the pack of future soapstars leave. Thanks France, well played.

If you really know what you were talking about you wouldn't call people like Viera (who had two terrific games), Makelele (been playing good from the start), Thuram (seen the game yesterday?) or even Sagnol (constently pushing up and falling back to defend).

Now if you think Italy will win 4-0 against France, feel free to bet all you can on them, will only make the odds better for me :)

thing is .. the french team was not doing shit until zidane and henry fired .. they fired in the game against spain and thats about it .. in the last game against portugal , they really werent playing any better than they were before the quarters, if they do get into a final and keep this form they are going to lose.
