As opposed to a fellowes (2€) or allsop pad (~10€), it definately is. Then again, these pads wear off quicker as they're cloth pads (or at least similar).

mm i find cloth lasts longer than the expensive plastic type.

hmm not sure, some people keep changing to a new cloth pad on a very regular basis. As for myself, I'm still happy with my rather old Allsop Raindrop and my Fellowes pad and I hardly notice any 'age problems'. I however for sure prefer the smooth feeling and comfort of my cloth pads over all hard pads I ever used. And regarding the prices a new cloth pad wouldn't be that much of an effort anyway.

compared to a clothpad..sure it's expencive; but so is a BMW compared to a Ford..one pad is in the solids type, the other is cloth. For a solid, it's not expencive.

my opinion is that bmw compared to a ford is a poor analogy and generalization.

well 32E seems expensive to me... not that it is too much money but i don't think it's worth it, even if it seems to be a good pad.

It glides pretty well, wouldn't say it was that good myself though :/

With standard mouse feet I found it fairly scratchy, not sandpaper but you couldn't describe it as gliding. The guy from Corepad just suggested that I use the replacement teflon that he provided and it does cut down the noise and make the movement much smoother, a smooth glide.

:o personally I love the feel of icemats and those rat pad style thingys just like those ever glide mats... but the cloths are sooooOooooo nice yet wear down quickly ;(

anyone tried the steal stealpads ? I like the look of them but its the thought of putting it onto a desk that scares me!

Those steel steelpads have that mat that stops them moving like the corepad, prefer their cloth pads though, qck+ for the win mate \o/

i tried it aswell,
it tracks like any other mouse pad.
in my idea it didnt make that much noise.
this mousepad will LAST! that is that biggest positive thing about this mousepad! it lasts so long because it's made of armored glass

The noise thing may be personal to me. I always use cloth pads with no-noise so any hard surface seems noisy to me. If you don't use a cloth pad I bet you won't even notice the noise.

It's not made out of cloth and it costs more than £6.99 so I'll stick with this allsop.

i got a new corepad off ebay cheaply a few months ago to replace my ageing func, and in fairness for me it wasnt a patch on it, seemed slightly scratchy as has already been mentioned, it was higher off the desk than the func and just less fluid to use... i ended up flipping the func over and using the other side (which although has more friction still is smooth as silk), and the corepad is sitting in its box on my shelve for when i can find a decent use for it... maybe when i get the new pc in my lounge for divx/mp3s.. will do nicley for a wireless couch mousematt :)
